I like the idea behind NIWA, and I'll try to help where I think help is needed.

Post by: Axiomist on June 20, 2010, 01:07:59 PM: Welcome Firefly! Thanks for assisting! The link I placed on Wikipedia only lasted 2 days or so but if you joined Wikirby, Wars Wiki, and NIWA because of it, then I'd say it was very worthwhile for me placing it there.

A guy removed it until we are much more substantial, unfortunately it seems he's judging wikis on their article count alone. But I guess I have to give them what they want. If all goes well, one day we won't even have to be the ones to put the link in Wikipedia.

I obviously get my name from the "missing" Koopa Brother, whose name appears in one of Chuck Quizmos questions. Black Ninjakoopa's artwork shows him wearing a dark blue bandanna and dark blue shell, which is also an inspiration for my name.

I'm a work alongside Gamefreak75 at the Kirby Wikia.

Furthermore, I am familiar with how boards like these work (I've been using proboards.com since 2008) so instructions aren't necessary.

But other than the odd filling of pages with '**** YOU' or similar (although someone did manage to cause a server meltdown last week) most users can be trusted. So I've plenty of time to work on other projects like the templates on WiKirby, and playing through some of the games for information. :mario:

We spent most of the summer arguing over who should fly the saucer back to Earth once we eventually overthrew them. Needless to say, neither of us knows how to pilot an alien ship, much less navigate through the vast reaches of space.

I have been using NIWA's wikis for some time before I joined until I actually learned there was a hub for the wikis :P But I still knew the about the GROUP that houses the Wikis. You can see that I got my name from the "Waddle" enemies in the Kirby series. Just tinkered a bit with Waddle Doo and I got the name WaddleDude! I find it strange that I made my username from my fourth favorite's Nintendo series. My best friend also thinks that a pink puff ball who can swallow anything and copy anything is retarded...I'm telling him that on Epic Yarn you don't swallow anything and actually you turn to different forms like cars,subs,and parachutes. But whatever. I just couldn't think of any enemy puns other than this one. :P So yeah,Zelda is my fave game series,Mario 2nd,Pokémon 3rd,Kirby 4th,and so on. So yeah I'm only a few days old on this awesome site hub! Please do't be mean or whatsoever because you see,I never joined the other wikis because you need e-mail address and my Mail Client is not prooperly installed,but I don't know what the freak to do. So yeah,that's pretty much it!

Anyway, I'm a bureaucrat on StrategyWiki, and have used Bulbapedia extensively for info on Pokémon games. I must admit that I have had no (or minimal) involvement in other NIWA wikis, and that probably won't change due to school and work :(

I'm involved in a few other non-NIWA wikis and am also a MediaWiki developer (having written a handful of extensions and a couple of core features)

As for myself, I am HavocReaper48 (why I put "User:" before that registering here I do not know :-\ , name change requested?) and I have been an editor on Wikia for several months. My first wiki I ever joined/registered on was SmashWiki.

I, being an absolute DKC fanatic, helped rise up the Donkey Kong Wikia shortly after seeing Wikia's large network. Articles were short and aspects un-updated. It shortly became my main wiki right after SW. Things went well, I had also associated myself with the Ace Combat and Street Fighter Wikias in my time, becoming an admin on both as well as becoming the lead editor of the DKWikia.

True, some drama (read: level articles, admin rights, edit wars...) came up every now and then. True, some articles were copied right off MW (desperate early community, much before I joined). And yeah, it took several months for an established community to finally form. I stuck through thick and thin. Until, the dreaded day, the new skin came, and this time, I was without any power to stop it...

...I'm assuming you all know the story from there. I look forward to being an active part of NIWA. The DKWiki/a does NOT encourage article copying from MW from this point. Don't do it. Really. I've purposely gone out of my way to differ from MarioWiki as much as possible.

I'm BrandedOne and I'm kind of a newbie to all of this. However, I've been watching NIWA grow since it's creation and I'm excited to see it continue to grow into what I'm sure will be my #1 resource for all Nintendo knowledge. I'm a fan of anything that has Nintendo's name on it, but my favorite series has to be the Fire Emblem Series (which is where my username comes from). I hardly know anything about how to run a wiki, so I don't think I'll be doing much of that, but I'll be happy to contribute when I can where I can. I've noticed that the members of this particular community are very supportive of each other and their work, which is something I don't see often enough on the Internet, and I'd like to become involved in any way I can.

If so, then I recommend checking out an Affialite of ours called the "Fire Emblem Wiki (http://www.fireemblemwiki.info/Main_Page)". It would be a great place for you to start, since you are a big fan of the series.

If not, Join anyway. It would be an excellent training ground for you.

I am a member of the Anti-Wikia Alliance and I support all wikis moving from Wikia. I would also hope that one day, Wikia will go bankrupt and fall.

I am pleased that wikis like Pikmin and SmashWiki decided to leave Wikia. Wikia is definitely one of the worst farms in control the founder has over the wiki. At least ShoutWiki allows the founder to change bureaucrat and bot rights at will.

I still occasionally edit SmashWiki and may become a more prominent member in the future again.

Despite the wiki being a new addition to NIWA I've been a long time user on Mario Wiki even before NIWA was formed. I was also a long time member on Wikia and an administrator on numerous wikis prior to their skin change. When I first came across Donkey Kong Wiki it was neglected and apparently abandoned by its founder and I proceeded to work on it and improve its state, and despite some trouble that was had over time, the wiki was still able to pull through thanks to its devoted staff consisting of myself, HavocReaper48, Megatron1, Carulosu and OmegaTyrant who are all still working hard and making sure that the wiki becomes a proud source of DK info.

Anyway I am a huge Nintendo fan :mario: with a large collection of great Nintendo games and numerous collectible memorabilia ranging from Goombas to Pokémon... and a 9-inch tall Samus statue... ;D

I'm 16-year-old Kevin, and am a general fan of Nintendo (aren't we all in one way or another?). I am currently registered with all NIWA wikis. I am active at Nookipedia and am a lead editor there, which is odd, because I haven't played Animal Crossing for a long time. I guess I just found a lot of edits to be made there.

I've also contributed to Donkey Kong Wiki, SmashWiki, MarioWiki, Bulbapedia, and Wikirby, but not extensively. I consider myself to only be active on Nookipedia - everywhere else, I usually just pop out on random occasion when I see something I can contribute to. I also am very active at Wikipedia, which is basically where my whole wiki-experience began.

Anyway, I might not be too active here, but I'll try to be.

I'm a rollbacker there, but I do have an open RfA, so let's see how that goes :)

I joined WiKirby in September 2011, joined MarioWiki's forum, thus became fascinated with forums as well, joined Bulbapedia, SmashWiki, NWiki, and Icaruspedia, and maybe other ones I might be forgetting. I started my own wiki and forum, which the wiki had no edits for over a year and the forum hasn't been posted in for almost a year. On Mariowiki, I'm Creeper (more known as Pokémon Trainer Red, which was my old name, or PTR, an acronym for said name), Wikirby I'm Mario, Bulbapedia as Pikachu Bros., and SmashWiki, NWiki, and Icaruspedia.

The NIWA forums isn't all that active at the moment, though some things are planned there for future. I think the email you got was more from someone hoping less that you'd hop on here and more that you'd just have a chat with them and us about the possibility of Zero Wiki joining NIWA at some point in the future, given that Nintendo now fully owns the Fatal Frame / Project Zero IP.

Sometime last year. They were part owners by June last year (http://www.vg247.com/2012/06/21/report-nintendo-has-co-ownership-in-fatal-frame-ip/), and I'm given to understand (though can't find the links quickly) that they purchased the rest late last year.

Thanks Moydow! I noticed you are apart of the staff at Strategy Wiki, I actually am a editor there as well, but I joined as soon as I became a Patroller over to Nookipedia. Been meaning to come back and edit there once again one of these days when I have enough free time! :D

Ahh! That makes sense. We're trying to move over to a new server atm. Slowly but surely! @_@ I wouldn't mind the extra linkage though! It would be helpful!
