thanks, how the Earthbound wiki coming?

eh. been busy with other stuff.....Actually, i'm not busy now. I think i will set it up now.
But i still need a name. I currently have "Independent Mother Earthbound Wiki", with "MotherEarthBoundWiki" as the subdomain; but it's kind of long. If that's fine, then i can simply update the wiki i have setup here (http://grifkuba.org/MotherEarthBoundWiki/index.php?title=Main_Page), saving me some work.
If not, then i just put the wiki in a new location with a new name.

Keep in mind, there are no templates, policies, etc. in place currently. This is both a good thing, and a bad thing:
Good: We won't be accused of plagiarism, as we have no content.
Bad: We have no support structure just yet....or templates...or categories....or policies....but then again, we are just beginning.
To avoid litigations, please don't copy any pages form any other wiki. I don't wish to put a sour taste in anyone's mouth; but we've seen what happens when content is taken from other wikis. (And rather than be specific, it might just be easier to ban the action, rather than be specific on Page Types or Wiki's).

Ok....maybe if it's a really good template, like core of the Navbox Template, or the Listen Template for descriptions of OGG files. But that's it.

I haven't played any of the Earthbound games aside from SSBB, but I can probably help a little. I can write some basic articles and proofread some more in-depth articles.

Hm....good question....
Well, first, is there anything iconic about the EarthBound series? a special font, a logo, a character?
What could be said to symbolize the entire franchise?

In EarthBound, I think they call it Psi, rather than PK. Don't know about the other two parts, though.
As for a iconic item... The Franklin Badge, perhaps? It appears in all three games.
Or maybe a globel, like in the Mother logo...

I like this. I would think most people who know something about Earthbound know it from Super Smash Bros (and those who knew it previously have probably played Super Smash Bros). Because of that, I don't think there will be any problem as far as recognition goes. The logo can further solidify that recognition.

I've expanded the EarthBound article so that it is longer than just a sentence. I've also made a couple pages for the towns.
Right now, should we concentrate on making long pages or making numerous pages? I was thinking it would be nice to just make many short pages because they will grow over time. On the other hand, you might want us to start with thorough pages so that we won't end up with a wiki full of stubs.

A good mixture of both would be Ideal, and just for examples sake:
for every 5 pages that are created,
- three of them needs to be created from a red link
- you go back and expand on three pages
or something similar that works best for you. Whatever you choose, we want Stubs to make up no more than ____% of the content. It's not a binding number, but the higher the percent is, the worst of a job we are doing in encouraging people to expand on what is already there.
On the other hand, if the number is too low, than we may wish too look around to see if pages need splitting, categorizing and other things, because the wiki as a whole may not be expanding when it should be....but this end is INCREDIBLY more situational, as there hasn't been much new content for Earthbound in many years.
(Also: I am not saying i do not want a low stub-percentage; but certain numbers are just unrealistic, such as 0).
As always, this is just my opinion.

Tried to imitate the style of the EarthBound lettering with this. I also kept it simple.
I was originally going to put a globe or the Franklin Badge in the background, but then I thought that might be overkill. Too much stuff isn't good for a logo. It needs to be simple and recognizable (I'm not saying my example is).
Also, here is a version that is more Mr. Saturn-y:

They might look better with a skin of complementary colours...
If you want to use these (even if only as a placeholder until you find something better or something), you can have them (you, as in "the wiki that is linked to on the first page of this thread").

Do we really need a seperate article for every enemy? Like, I can see the sanctuary bosses getting their own page (despite not really being all that important anyway, they're pretty much just powered-up versions of regular enemies) I... guess, but otherwise... I dunno. It just seems kinda difficult to expand on, other than a simple infobox with the stats/weaknesses/resistances (why do I feel like I'm talking about Pokemon?). And their different attacks, I guess, since a lot of enemies have random silly stuff that they do.
Or like. Grouping enemies together on one page, such as all the Ramblin' Shroom (or Mobile Sprout, or Spinning Robo, Mooks... and so on) variants. I dunno. It's just something I noticed just now.

Yep! We use the M3 fan translation names over coming up with our own- it just makes things 110% easier, since that's what a good portion of the fandom uses in the first place. Makes things easier to search for/recognize. And it's pretty much direct translations from the Japanese game with a couple name changes here and there, from what I can tell so far, so... yeah, why not.
