I'd love to make a wiki. Out of those listed, I'd prefer F-Zero, since I know more about that than the others. The problem is, I don't have the computer to do it with. Ever tried building a wiki on Vista Basic?

This is nonsense. Some Wikia's don't even help you all that much. I went on Monster Hunter Wikia, and I looked at a resource map, I wanted to see what something meant. BUUUT on the map, it says...

"If you do not know what each symbol means, then too bad."

WTF

People don't have to put money into running a Wikia. Some people just set one up and forget about it after a month or so. When you have to pay to run it, for things like a domain name and MySQL software, it's usually a given that you'll put effort into it. But of course, Wikia don't care about that. They don't care that there are real fans out there who have sacrificed time and money to make sure that they can give people the best quality information. They only care about how much money they're bringing in, and will attempt to buy out and eliminate anyone who gets in their way, as shown by Angela Beesley and her many failed offers (and almost certainly failures to come) to Archaic for Bulbapedia.

I noticed something. I went onto Bulbapedia and scrolled down the main page. I found that it can be found in 7 different languages. Here's Japanese: http://wiki.xn--rckteqa2e.com/wiki/%E3%83%A1%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3%E3%83%9A%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B8, for one. I wonder when the other 5 NIWA wikis will have wikis in different languages.

Bulbapedia is part of Encyclopediae Pokémonis, an affiliation of independent Pokémon wikis in different languages. They link to each other via 'In other languages' boxes on pages, similar to Wikipedia.

Back on topic, I am an administrator on StrategyWiki, which is partnered with Zelda Wiki, Bulbapedia, and WiKirby, where I'm also an active member.

Thanks! On StrategyWiki, most of my work is patrol and anti-vandalism, since new templates aren't needed very often. But other than the odd filling of pages with '**** YOU' or similar (although someone did manage to cause a server meltdown last week) most users can be trusted. So I've plenty of time to work on other projects like the templates on WiKirby, and playing through some of the games for information.

I joined WiKirby after Axiomist suggested a partnership with StrategyWiki, where I'm an administrator. From WK, I joined here, and Wars Wiki. I also have dormant accounts on all other NIWA wikis to have joined so far.

Firefox usually, Opera if I need the IRC software, and sometimes Chrome. Ironically, Chrome refuses to load Gmail nine times out of ten.
