I'm not sure about why they would do this... SSB has seemed like a home console game, not a handheld one. Would there be any connectivity between the two, would they be seperate games, will the 3DS be downgraded, like Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games?

I read that they said that they'll have connectivity. Maybe have characters you can only unlock in one version and then you can use them in the other. Or let you play online with people who have the other system's version.

Also, Jump Super Stars on DS was a SSB type game and it worked.

Anyone think that this time around they could have five, or more third-party characters?  It would be nice, since they're running out of great fighting characters to put in the series, they've already used the best ones besides Krystal, Zoroark, and a few others that have nintendo significance.
Crash Bandicoot: Nintendo's first Sony rival character, I hope they merge his two looks together, w/realistic fur...
Pacman, already raced against Mario in the arcades, Twice...
Lara Croft, I hope the makers of her game beg like Hideo did.
Chun Li, The real star of Street Fighter, and the heroine of the fighting game genre
Megaman as either AT or a secondary Capcom Character, RE Zombie as AT.
Sonic & Snake: This time Sonic as a starter Character

I'm hoping 3rd parties will be kept to a minimum, so they can added more 1st and 2nd party characters.

Agreed. Sonic I could understand, but Snake felt out of place.

If it has Okami in it my life will be complete. I also hope they have handheld masterpieces for the 3DS version that can be played to a certain point in the game, like OoA/S and Mother 3. Same with the Wii U version, but with console games.
I blame the economy.

yes! more masterpieces would be awesome. Help expose Western audiences to games there haven't been released internationally.

like many Fire Emblem games. :)

Tattletale1's list looks good to me.  :eekdance:

Not really, I mean Snake has fought Bionic superwepons, Psycic & Superpowered Mutants, It's a thin line between Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2 and the Modern Metroid.  The only difference is one uses realistic weapons, and the other takes place in the future, where bullets are almost obsolete because you'd have to reload, and some plasma cannons are self recharging.  Both have creepy levels & backgrounds. also, remember Twilight Princess?  Creepy...  ...but it was more of a dark fairy tale, so...

If Crash Bandicoot is a character, Wrath of Cortex would be the only logical choice, they should have two save files that made it to the first & second boss levels.
Sonic the hedgehog 2
MGS twin Snakes for Solid Snake,
SM64
Street Fighter 2 for Chun Li
