F-Zero Wiki
« on: July 24, 2011, 03:36:29 AM »
Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to finally be able to publicly reveal the latest independent Nintendo wiki project, the one you've been waiting for: The F-Zero Wiki, brought to you by Mute City.org. Our plan is to hopefully expand the wiki into a full F-Zero fansite, with forums and other features. The wiki is another ex-Wikia project, and has undergone fine-tuning with members of NIWA staff prior to the public launch. Please pay the wiki a visit at http://mutecity.org/wiki , and feel free to help us out in any way you can. All help would be much appreciated!

woo! thanks you guys!

Alright, bellow are the requirements for becoming a NIWA member, after which there is a formal review that goes on behind the scenes by the staff.

Quote
  • Your wiki's subject must be Nintendo-related. If it isn't, we may be willing to offer another manner of affiliation. For guidance on which games on Nintendo platforms qualify, please refer to this list.
  • You and your staff should be familiar and enthusiastic about your subject's franchise.
  • You should be prepared to pay for your own hosting, as NIWA is not a wiki host. We are willing to recommend hosts and inform you of hosts with whom we've had bad experiences.
  • Your wiki should be operational, have a "complete" layout, and a competent active staff. A complete layout should be functional, aesthetically pleasing, and have all obvious features in place. No "under construction" or "content coming soon" labels should be present. Structural, Administration, and Policy Pages should be clearly defined and accessible.
  • Your wiki must be independent, meaning it is not hosted by any of the following: Wikia, Wikkii, ShoutWiki, WetPaint, etc. Please be aware that this is not a full list. If you are concerned over whether or not your host is independent, please contact us.
  • You should have at least 75 articles, with a stub ratio of no more than 3 stubs for every 1 article (or <75% stubs).
  • Your wiki should have a bit of "staying power" - that is to say, you must prove you have what it takes to last a while. Minimum wiki age of six months, with legitimate recent activity.
  • Your wiki may not conflict with any existing NIWA Member Wiki's legitimate coverage without that wiki's expressed permission. Please contact a conflicting wiki ahead of time to verify conflict and work out a resolution.

While i can't ask you guys to review us in a formal/official manner, i can ask for some informal/unofficial advise and help.

So please review the wiki, and tell us:
  • what do you guys think we need to do in order to become NIWA members?
  • would you guys be interested in helping us in this goal? if so, is there any specific area you would like to help us in?

(these questions are to everyone. Not just people who have thus far participated in the thread ;) )

Thank you everyone in advance,
Tacopill

These seem to be the criteria F-Zero Wiki still needs to meet.

Yeap.

I am going to see what i can do to lower the stub ratio and get up policy pages over the next 6 months.

Which means, our current target date for getting in is the 23th of January, 2012.

You mean 23rd, not 23th, right?
