Nintendo World Championships - On October 7, Nintendo held the Nintendo World Championships 2017 event. 24 contestants took on challenges in a variety of games, testing their abilities in some of Nintendo's finest games, both old and new. If you missed it, you can watch the whole thing here.
Nintendo Switch Update - The version 4.0.0 update for Nintendo Switch was released on October 18, which adds the ability to capture short video clips of gameplay! For more details about the update, including other new features and changes, see here.
Sales Updates - According to NPD sales data for September 2017, the Super NES Classic Edition was actually the best-selling hardware in North America, outselling every other major hardware including the Nintendo Switch.
Financial Results - Nintendo have released its financial results for the last six months as of September 30. The Nintendo 3DS lineup still continues to sell fairly strong with 68.98 million units in lifetime sales worldwide, and the company expecting to reach the 70 million milestone soon. The Nintendo Switch has sold over 7.63 million units worldwide since launch, and with its first holiday season approaching the company now expects to sell 14 million units by the end of the fiscal year. Sales figures for games have also been strong, with Super Mario Odyssey selling over 2 million copies in just three days of its release. Finally, the Super NES Classic Edition has sold over 2 million units worldwide.
