For a year the city has been quiet, but a new robotic terror has gripped the city! That scheming scientist, Dr. Cossack has arrived in town with eight new metal maniacs who are bigger and badder than anything Dr. Wily ever dreamed of. It's going to be a cybernetic showdown as the streets of the city erupt with the sizzling sounds of molten metal!

Armed with the new Mega Buster, Mega Man runs, jumps and dodges his way through mazes of metallic munchkins on his way to the Siberian citadel of Dr. Cossack for the final cataclysmic clash!

  • 16 levels of explosive action!
  • Rush, your constant canine companion, is back to battle the baddies!
  • Use the new Mega Buster to blast the maniacal Dr. Cossack!

A year after the destruction of Gamma and Dr. Wily's defeat at the hands of Mega Man, the world is still at peace. One day a mysterious letter arrives for Dr. Light from an unknown scientist named Dr. Mikhail Cossack. Dr. Cossack plans to eliminate Mega Man and prove himself to be the greatest robot designer of all time. It’s up to Mega Man to save the day once again. Mega Man 4 provides action based game play like the earlier games in the series. In Mega Man 4, Mega Man has the ability to charge up energy inside his Arm Cannon, allowing him to then fire larger and more damaging blasts.

Story

One year after the events of Mega Man 3, Dr. Light receives a message from a Russian robotics scientist named Dr. Cossack. Cossack seeks to destroy Mega Man with eight robots of his design and prove that he is the greatest robot scientist in the world.

Gameplay

Mega Man 4 retains much of the gameplay of previous entries, including features such as the Rush abilities and the slide move introduced in Mega Man 3. Players must complete a series of eight stages and defeat a boss robot at the end of each, after which the player is given their weapon. Mega Man 4 also allows players to replay stages they have already completed.

One new ability added to this installment is the Mega Buster, which allows players to hold down the firing button to charge up a more powerful shot. Upon reaching the middle of the stage, the player will find "Flip Top", a small robot that gives Mega Man a random item such as health, weapon energy, an extra life, or an Energy Tank.
