A Nintendo Direct was broadcast on March 8, 2018. At around 30 minutes in length, the Direct primarily focused on Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch titles launching in 2018, including a focus on Mario Tennis Aces.

Nintendo Switch

  • Kirby Star Allies - Showcases the ability to recruit other major Kirby characters such as King Dedede and Meta Knight as "Dream Friends". The first game update will allow players to also recruit Rick, Kine, and Coo from Kirby's Dream Land 2; Marx from Kirby Super Star, and Gooey from Kirby's Dream Land 3. The game will be released on March 16, while the game update will release on March 28. A demo for the game is also available on the Nintendo eShop.
  • Ōkami HD - Announces that the HD remaster for the game will be released on Nintendo Switch, with additional touch screen controls and Joy-Con motion controls. The game will be released in the summer.
  • Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido - Showcases the game on Nintendo Switch, including new story details and both local and online multiplayer gameplay. The game will be released for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS on June 8.
  • Octopath Traveler - Shows off two new characters, as well as additional gameplay details such as the job system. The game will be released on July 13. The game will also receive a special "Wayward Traveler" edition.
  • Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes - Showcases new gameplay and story details about the game. The game will launch later in 2018.
  • Dark Souls Remastered - Showcases gameplay footage. A network test for the game was announced to be released before launch. Also announces a Solaire of Astora amiibo figure. The game and amiibo will be released on May 25.
  • My Nintendo - A reminder that My Nintendo Gold Points can be used toward purchases on the Nintendo eShop.
  • Mario Tennis Aces - Reveals several new gameplay details about the game, including characters, new types of shots and other abilities, online gameplay, motion gameplay, and the story mode. The game will be released on June 22. Also announces a "Pre-Launch Online Tournament" that will be hosted before the game's release.
  • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker - Announces that the game will be released on Nintendo Switch with additional features such as new stages based on Super Mario Odyssey and the ability for a second player to assist by using a second Joy-Con. Also reveals a Nintendo 3DS version which includes touch screen controls. Both versions of the game will launch on July 13.
  • Undertale - A teaser trailer revealing that the game will be released for Nintendo Switch.
  • Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy - Announces that the remake compilation will be released for Nintendo Switch. The game will be released on July 10.
  • Little Nightmares - Shows an overview of the story and gameplay. The game will be released on May 18.
  • South Park: The Fractured but Whole - Reveals that the game will be released for Nintendo Switch. The game's downloadable content will be made available through a season pass; the first two packs will be released at launch, while the third will be made available later in the year. The game will be released on April 24.
  • Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition - Announces that the game will be released on May 18.
  • ARMS - Announces the ARMS US & Canada Online Open tournament; preliminary matches will take place in the game's online mode between March 8 and 18, while the top eight players will compete in the finals on March 31, which will be livestreamed. A three-day ARMS Global Testpunch event will also be held starting on March 31. Finally, announces that producer Kosuke Yabuki and Splatoon 2 producer Hisashi Nogami will be giving presentations on the respective franchises at the Game Developers Conference 2018.
  • Splatoon 2 - Announces new content to be coming in the version 3.0 update, including new gear, stages, and weapons, and a new "X" ranking, which will release in late April. Also announces the "Octo Expansion" a paid single-player story expansion that will be released in the summer.
  • Super Smash Bros. - A teaser trailer revealing that a Super Smash Bros. title will be released for Nintendo Switch in 2018.
