*This thread could be moved at some point or another.*

Do you want to understand patrolling?  ...Does HTML coding bring you down?  This thread is here to answer the questions you couldn't answer with your wiki's help pages.  However, please remember to look at your wiki's help pages because they are likely to answer a lot of the questions you may come up with.

All posts should folllow the rules, and try to be detailed as possible with the subject matter you wish to find answers on.  Also, all questions should be wiki-related, as all non-wiki related questions will be deleted on site.

With that, ask away!

Stickied for now. We should certainly offer helpful things like this to all users, so why not? =D

I actually thought the ASK THE [...] STAFF thread was going to be like this, this is what we needed

That thread is really just for fun (as you may be able to tell by some of the questions asked).  However, this thread is super cereal.

Ok, and starting now all posts must be about serious matters, this goes to everybody

From Axiomist's talk page on WiKirby:

QuoteInterwiki Table & Wanted Pages
For some odd reason, zw:Special:Search/ZW is on the Wanted Pages. The link comes up blue and leads to ZW as it's supposed to, but leads to a ZW search with "ZW" as the search terms. Nothing links to this, so I'm guessing that's why it's on the Wanted Pages... that's my guess. —Austin (Inner NIWA Operative) 15:44, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

The Interwiki tables are one of the things here I never figured out. Good to see your editing issue has been resolved. Sorry I wasn't around enough to look into it. Axiomist 04:47, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Hm... Checked it out, and I'm not sure what should be done. The link does it job, but I guess because it seemingly links to a nonexistent ZW page, it will show up on WiKirby's wanted page list. not sure, though. Try not to link to search pages if it's a wanted page on the other site (that's my suggestion).

So here's what happened: The prefix was deleted, and the link listed on the Wanted Pages turned red.  Afterwards, it was entered again, and thus it turned blue.

I think it might be something on ZW's side, but don't quote me on that.

Wouldn't that stop the point of it being there?  [I don't know what I'm talking about, sadly]

Not really. Linking to direct pages would be better (which is what interwiki links are usually for).

It seems Adam found the issue, as always.  The problem was a template which used the link to redirect the viewer to ZW's Special:Search page.  The prefix was also changed to trans and local zero to trans and local one.  It's still on the wanted pages, but I decided to stop caring about it and focus on other wanted pages... for now. :)

This thread is old, and spammy.  I'm making a new one in *censored by Austin.* ... a new, mysterious board of wonder which will be visable to the public  momentary.
