Mother 1 gets no love?

TEDDY FOR NEXT SSB

or Lloyd. But I have a feeling they'd choose Jeff over Lloyd if they went that route. (Either way they'd be badass.)

Is it just me, or is this place full of lobotomized, inebriated 12-year-old Twilight fans? >.>

OK that's a little out of hand. No need to insult someone like that just because they failed to miss something. :|

Cool it, guys.

I've been playing a lot of SSB 64 lately.

I am absolutely horrible at it, yet I can't stop playing.

Pokemon already has a ton of movies. Like... what, fourteen? (I know you're talking non-anime but still. Lots of movies already there. It'd be weird if they randomly did a non-anime-related movie for Pokemon.)

Mother 3 isn't a fan game though. The site you reference is an optional fan translation.

Still a huge part of the fandom... and by a fan... :\

I'm starting to get a bit doubtful about GBA being readily available, they might wait to release it or you might have to buy an add on. The reason being is that the 3DS might not be able to hold the games since they might be too big, like the GCN for the Wii.

Hmm... that might be a good point. GBC games are usually only like, 1MB in size (that's what I noticed when I just glanced at the couple of Pokemon ROMs I have, there might be bigger ones), while the GBA is usually 16MB (with a max of 32).

That still doesn't seem like it's much of a problem at all for modern hard drives, though.

Some peach tea (really good looseleaf tea, too! not just some flavored stuff in a bag [/tea nerd]) and a cinnamon muffin.

I'm aware that it's not breakfast time in my time zone at the time of posting at all. (It's nearly midnight here.)

am I the only one here who likes F-Zero?, Capt Falcon should stay.
It's not that it's not liked, but it's more that Capt Falcon's portrayal in Smash Bros. is ruining what people think of the series. Like they think that he's this guy who runs around yelling FALCON PAWNCH and SHOW ME YOUR MOVES all the time.

...If anything it's more "he should stay out of Brawl because we like F-Zero and don't want it to be ruined further with this nonsense", if I'm picking that up correctly.

Yeah, totally agreed on Captain Falcon and SSB. I feel really bad for (actual) F-Zero fans for having to deal with everyone being like "OH, F-ZERO??? FALCON PAAWWNNCHHH HUR HUR SHOW ME UR MOVES!!!!". :(

I don't think Shiek/Zelda is much of a spoiler anymore, though. Thanks to the Internet and it being almost a 13-year-old game, I think everyone pretty much knows about that plot twist... it's sort of like "SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE".

Clones I'm not sure about them disappearing anytime soon. Some people prefer one character over the other as far as personal preferences go, and won't mind that it's technically "outclassed".

Well, Ness and Lucas are in them, and they have yet to be removed from being in a dead series. I think there is a consperacy...
A game not being released in four years doesn't mean the entire series is dead. It's still plenty popular in Japan, and has had a bunch of merchandise released over the past couple of months. :| F-Zero I don't know much about, but I don't think anything has really happened to it lately. Please correct me if I'm wrong, though!

And to Tina, Nintendogs is my favorite simulation game ever made, even more than Sims.

Ack, sorry. I've just seen a lot of wikis started up by people who've never touched the subject it's about before. XD;

Guuuuuuys. Don't create a wiki for the sake of having a wiki! If you don't know anything about the series, or created it just out of impulse and not thinking about it in the long run at all, it's just going to wither and die within days. >_<

I recall joining SystemNet's #niwa a while back (systemnet's the only server I go to, actually) and it wasn't registered. Probably got dropped because nobody used it for several months.

So, uh, therefore I think that's a good case for not using that one. :P

The Lounge / Re: Skype vs. IRC - the ultimate battle!
« on: January 20, 2011, 09:20:45 PM »
First chat client I really used was IRC. I still use it, and I'm pretty fond of the mostly text-based simplicity. Scripts are also fun! And timers. /timer 0 0 /say EXCESS FLOOD IN THREE, TWO, ONE.

Skype is also great, though. I only ever started using it in the past couple of months or so, but I don't have many complaints about it. :P

As far as other IM clients go, I've used AIM and still do, but I really just use it to keep in contact with some friends and that's it. It's... okay. :V

He doesn't cite his sources.

There's a lot more reasons to despise Serebii other than that, lol.

>Crappy translations (they are so horrible, when HGSS and BW came out I was almost weeping because of how terrible they were. And since it's a big site, everyone was using them. UGH. And it's not like he ever bothered correcting them until the English games were released!)
>Crappy site layout (the navigation. that color scheme. ffffffuuuuu)
>Crappy writing
>Crappy community

(Yeah, one could say I really don't like Serebii either. This is sort of off-topic but I figured I would do people a favor and be blunt in listing reasons why it is so bad, instead of dragging it out for another 10 posts.)

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Nintendo 3DS preview
« on: January 19, 2011, 10:23:16 PM »
I'm not sure, honestly. There's a couple of games that I'm looking forward to (Layton, Animal Crossing, Zelda), and it's impressed me so far. But the thing that's holding me back is not the price, but the region locking.

...I think I'll wait until the region locking is broken. I really like imports, but I'm not sure if I would be willing to get a Japanese 3DS and import every single game I wanted.

$249.99 isn't too horrible considering that it's pretty much the lovechild of a DS, a Wii, and 3D..

You only need to worry about staff if you start getting problems.
Well, yeah. I mean one person to step up and care for the channel, not an entire team of staff. By care for I mean at least not flat out abandon it. (You have no idea how many times I've been in a situation where an op is needed, and the owner's abandoned the channel...)
Quote
Why, apart from the fact it's already established?
Since Skype keeps an active log of things and just gives you everything you've missed while not signed out (wow there could have been a better way to word that), and since a lot of people tend to miss each other a lot... yeah. IRC's pretty good if everyone happens to be active around the same time, although there's always idling in a channel.

I'd also like to add in that I'm in no way against IRC whatsoever - I love it, lol. But I'm not sure if it would be worth the effort to try and get an active channel running for here specifically.

Just adding in that there's no point in having a channel if no one goes to it. An option that's dead all the time is pretty dumb.

If we're going to keep an IRC channel, we'd need someone to volunteer staffing it, publicize it as much as we do with Skype, and just stick to one network instead of having multiple channels on multiple networks. Makes it confusing.

This kind of reminds me of when Bulbapedia opened an IRC channel. Nobody really publicized it, and all of the staff used a different chat system in the first place. Not much of a point. :\

While I do love IRC, I kind of think that Skype suits NIWA's lifestyle the most, and it's pretty hard to get people to adapt to a different chat format. I've tried.

Then Porkey would have destroyed the world, permanently.

What if the morning sun doesn't shine again?

This isn't what I had in mind for this thread. I meant real-life things like "What if Shigesato Itoi were American?" or questions like that.

Tina asked a game question so I did too.

How does that relate to the game?

I believe the morning sun
Always gonna shine again, and
I believe a pot of gold
Waits at every rainbow's end, oh
I believe in roses kissed with dew
Why shouldn't I believe the same in you?

I believe in make-believe
Fairy tales and lucky charms, and
I believe in promises
Spoken as you cross your heart, oh
I believe in skies forever blue
Why shouldn't I believe the same in you?

You may say I'm a fool
Feelin' this way that I do
You can call me Pollyanna, say I'm crazy as a loon
I believe in silver linings
And that's why I believe in you!

etc. If you don't know Pollyanna, I am disappoint! >:(
