NIWA Discussion / Re: Interwiki Linking
July 27, 2011, 04:04:41 PM
I think as long as it's done a) with proper interwiki code (e.g. [[smashwiki:Master Hand|Master Hand]]) and b) with appropriate cause, there isn't much of a reason not to.

If another wiki covers a topic that you don't on yours but want to link to, why not?

NIWA Discussion / Re: F-Zero Wiki
July 25, 2011, 04:58:38 AM
QuoteYour wiki should be operational, have a "complete" layout, and a competent active staff. A complete layout should be functional, aesthetically pleasing, and have all obvious features in place. No "under construction" or "content coming soon" labels should be present. Structural, Administration, and Policy Pages should be clearly defined and accessible.
QuoteYou should have at least 75 articles, with a stub ratio of no more than 3 stubs for every 1 article (or <75% stubs).
QuoteYour wiki should have a bit of "staying power" - that is to say, you must prove you have what it takes to last a while. Minimum wiki age of six months, with legitimate recent activity.

These seem to be the criteria F-Zero Wiki still needs to meet.

http://kotaku.com/#!5792165/new-nintendo-console-debuting-at-e3-launching-in-2012-more-powerful-than-xbox-360-and-ps3

"...the console is significantly more powerful than the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and that Nintendo's intent is to recapture the hardcore market. Another source said it is capable of 1080p resolutions.

Nintendo is reportedly showing the console to publishers to garner interest for a late 2012 launch."

I look forward to seeing if you all can make some sort of merger into a site that will benefit all of the current sites' users.  Good luck!

Same guy hit SmashWiki, as you may have seen; just revert, block and be sure to restrict account creation on the block form.  Is there something more major that would need to be done?

As a completely informal thing speaking on my own behalf, I would recommend improving this ASAP.

The Google search bar on the hub isn't working for me.

Working fine for me.  What search were you trying, and in what browser?

Why do I for some reason find Gabilans and Bookas cute

From what I've seen, the "obvious question" captcha is an excellent tool.

I made a post in this thread, but I'm really not sure why...

EarthBound for people who've barely heard of the series, EB/Mother for those who are more knowledgable about it.

Wiki References / Re: Interwiki redirect

I've seen it done, but shouldn't one use a soft redirect for that anyways?  It's kinda weird to click an in-wiki link and end up elsewhere.

I didn't expect EBRC to be that popular with the hater lurking around.

Well since 2/3 of the series has yet to have a legitimate US release, it makes sense.
