In the spirit of NIWA, for those of you who don't know already Wikirby - The Kirby Wiki has officially launched.

Check it out!

Commendations to Axiomist, Adam, Neo and all of the other guys who got this happening and are running WiKirby.

Which browser do you use?

Garlic Man

92 of 136 articles are stubs ^^;;

I'll try to help expand on whatever I can.

Tucayo

Well, all wikis start from 0, so I guess this was a good start.

I wanna thank and congratulate all the admins who made this possible. Edo, Axiomist, Adam, Neo, etc....

safari, but it doesn't happen all the time, also is the main page gonna get updated to add kirby and metroid wikis?

Axiomist

I'd like to hear more about that issue, if we can't fix it, then we can see if the server guys know anything about it. When Cipriano 119 was having a problem, we sent them an email and the issue was resolved in 4 minutes!

A screenshot of the error is the absolute best way for us to see what's going on. I'm assuming you know how to do that, but if not, just press "Print Screen" and then paste that to your image software (MSPaint will do too), save as .jpg or something then upload it to Photobucket/Image shack/whatever... and post the link in here.

@Tom Servo: Metroid Wiki and WiKirby are not yet members of NIWA, so they won't be added to the main page until they are.

I tried opening WK with Safari and it worked fine for me.

You may want to try clearing your cache.

For some reason the site is having problems the recent changes page, anyone working on it?

not I. I've asked for a MYSQL update recently tho. I'll have this fixed in a few minutes.

Slight bump (again):

People have been having problems accessing the site all day. Any attempt to access WiKirby results in a 403 Forbidden error.

fixed. sorry for my absence. It seems we've outgrown our host. They've temporarily lifted the limit on us, but I'm looking around for the next step for WiKirby. I also enabled caching (I think) so hopefully that eases our burden until we infiltrate a more powerful machine.

I'm sure you already knew this, but MediaWiki has a sort of 'last resort' performance saver. If you add the 'siteadmin' permission to your usergroup, you can access [[Special:LockDB]] which will allow you to disable everything outside of viewing pages. Using this in combination with your cache (which shouldn't change while the DB is locked) is a great way to cut down on server use.

But of course, I'm sure you'd rather not do this until absolutely necessary. Your host seems pretty kind, and appears to be willing to help you deal with the situation. Still, it's something to keep in mind.

Axiomist

ok, we should be on a VPS sometime today. The nameservers were updated, but it looks like there's going to be a delay for it all to get back online. Hopefully all most of the issues we've had before are gone now.

That will always happen when changing nameservers. It should only take 10-20 minutes. I can't wait to see Wikirby running lightning fast! :)
