I used my level 86 Arceus. Only that Pokemon, which is incredible.  But the question is: What did YOU use to defeat the highest level Pokemon in HeartGold/SoulSilver?

Mari-Illustrious-Makinami

I used Mewtwo.

And a f***-ton of revives were bought. (50) I used four.

Lol my Arceus died at the tail end of the battle but the hail killed Red's Charizard, so it was actually a draw but I brought a full party of Pokemon but didn't use them. haha

Metechar

LV. 100 Event Arceus. Yep. The one that knows Spacial Rend, Roar of Time, Shadow Force, AND Judgement.

My Level 100 Rotom and a few others. I used to tend to use Trick on Pikachu to get Light Balls daily.

I haven't even beaten the E4, anyone know of a good place to train other then Victory Road? I already beat all the trainers and I'm still a good 5 levels before I can even hope to beat them.

Solar Dragon

In the original Gold, I used this team:

Feraligatr, Crobat, Snorlax, Pidgeot, Ho-Oh. My highest level Pokemon was 70 at that time too.

Hmm... You should find wild pokemon at higher levels. That is my idea.

I used Suicune, and Pigeot, (my starter wasn't trained properly like I should've done) and an Exeggutor, but after I decided to clone my Exegutor the game went haywire, and a girl's sprite with Gold's colors showed up.  (Crystal)  I never beat Red

Sorry, but i currently don;t have an answer for you.

Personally, when i have ran out of people to fight, and wild Pokemon are giving me negligible exp., i go through the elite four like a masochist madman,  buying tons of items (revives, full restore, full heals, hyper potions), using them to help me fight right up to the point i blackout, and then starting the cycle.

Held items like Amulet Coin and Exp. Share help speed up the process, but it still takes a good 3 days to a week of doing this for me to beat the elite four.

Not the most pleasent solution, I'm aware, but it is one, nonetheless.

Lance is a cheater! You can't stop the match run to the store to buy Full Restores, come back, use them, then continue the match.
