But if I remove what's in there, then what? Have nothing?

There isn't anything wrong with not having news for a few days or so.  But yeah, actually having news to display is preferable.  Maybe something about PAX East 2011?

Anyways, saw this ad for a more portable laptop.  (A laptop with a cellphone/iPod-thing docking station).  At first I thought I was a good idea, but then thought: "why not just use one or the other?"

Hi Neo, it's been a while.  ...Not counting those two comments I left you.  To be honest, I forgot you had a broken laptop, and thought instead that you went inactive.

This thread isn't about Aiko's being, it's about sharing your events with the community.  Can we please keep it that way?

Aiko, this isn't the place to complain how "horrible" NIWA Staff is.  If you want to do that, post it in either the suggestions thread, or the how to improve NIWA thread.  (Correct me if one is more for this type of conversation).  Or, as a third option, you can give a PM explaining your feelings to another staff member, preferably an active staff member, a global mod, or an admin.

Anyways, in a short time of only four hours (:O), I've went from not knowing anything about binomial distribution probability to being an expert at it.  I wasted two hours looking it up, which didn't help me at all, then another two hours doing several problems of it.  ...Figured out that if the P(> or = to 3), which I will make 0.43... then P(<3) = (1-0.43).  What a shortcut, that's all I can say.  Of course, getting that 0.43 is the tedious part.

yay for statistics...

Do not get the wrong idea.  You can like whatever you want.  There is no reason to appologize.  Back to topic.  ...CN seems to be improving their shows.  I no longer feel the need to rant CN.  Time will tell if this continues.

Chowder's the best of them.

If you hate Chowder, you're just a hater.

Everything is too literal and just slapstick.  Chowder isn't for the old CN fans who are like 17-20something now.  If I was an 8 year old, I would like it.  But, I'm not.

Regular Show: It's entertaining to an extent, but not exactly my kind of show.  Though, anything is better than Hole In The Wall. :L

Adventure Time: Disliked it at first, pretty entertaining I suppose.

Chowder: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

TDI: Meh

Robotmany: Never seen it.

MAD: Reminds me of Robot Chicken, so I like it.  Some (not enough) are actually kind of clever.

Not a lot of details.  I'm too lazy at the moment.

Peanut, since you are staff, you can find the NIWA's discussion here.

Several methods were discussed and applied.  These methods are not too hard to guess, but, I'm not sure if I should speak them here since it's hidden for a reason.  If you have a question, put it in the thread.

For those who are not staff, talk to a staff member of your wiki, since each wiki had a different method or combination of methods to deal with the issue.

To answer you question, a lot of the NIWA wikis have indeed been hit.

Also, to increase poll options, you can do that yourself I think.

You can do it, it's under "(Add Option)".

would increasing the amount of options on an already existing poll count as "changing it"?

Only an admin can add options, or change it, after it has been posted.  ...And to answer your question, yes, due to it no longer being in its previous state.

:O  ...The sandwich form, or the frozen ones you bake which are in the shape of a hill and filled with cheese, broccoli, etc. ?

The last thing I had was plain cheese pizza...meh.

But the "f" bomb?

If you have a problem with the post, talk (respectfully) to the moderator who edited it.  (It's at the bottom of the post.)  But while doing this, please keep in mind he/she is just trying to do their job.

So wait, was there a discussion to close other help threads in other boards and revive this board?

I mean, it's be nice to have a big ol help board, but I kind of feel like this was done without any consent.

This board was supposed to be this way since the beginning (and it was agreed upon by the staff).  It was closed and had few threads because there wasn't a total need for an entire board because the NIWA had 6 members at the time.  The board was never updated during my inactivity, and NIWA's growing status.

NIWA Discussion / Re: The Help Wanted Thread
February 24, 2011, 11:53:32 PM
The Wiki References board is taking over all help related threads.  If you have an issue related to a wiki or tech.-related things like hosting and servers... make a thread in there.

*The board is still locked for now, waiting for an admin to unlock it.*

  • Only posts related to a wiki, wiki-related tasks/technology (hosting, etc.), or this board are allowed here.
  • Before posting a thread, please search through at least a couple of pages to see if a similar question was already answered.
  • This board is not to be used for general discussion, please see The Lounge for such needs.
  • All of the forum rules apply here too
