Hey, guys! Today, we've introduced a new system on the forums: A CARD system! You use your NIWAs to gamble for cards! It's fully functional, so feel free to test it out!
Report all bugs to me ASAP, please, because this is NOT an official mod. It's one I coded myself. But I don't get all the credit. Edofenrir was the mastermind behind the idea :)
Have fun!
EDIT: The images are not working properly due to the server having a case sensitive setup. I'm currently fixing this, so just chill out for a minute ;)
EDIT 2: Images seem to be fixed. If you find a broken one, yell at me. :P
Almost forgot.

Anyone I forgot: You're still important, and it couldn't have been done without you!
It's awesome to finally see it functional.
You did a splendid job, Neo, truly superb. My thanks to you. :)
Hmmm... the first card I drew was the Piece of Heart. Interesting.
Amazing! I plan to give a 5000 niwas prize to the first non-admin user to complete the collection :)
Glad I could help you. Enjoy I guess.

Hm...
Maybe Nintendo, for actually inventing all that stuff on the cards. :P

are you gonna add more as more wikis join?
Only Edo knows.
I do? Yay!
Nuh, but to answer the question:
I will try to steadily update the amount of cards and slip them into the game. If possible, I'd like to add cards from many franchises. Problem is that there are franchises I haven't played (like Nintendo Wars and Metroid), so I might need the help of the respective wiki staffs.
Oh well, we will see.
What do we do if you get the same card twice?

What do we do if you get the same card twice?
There is a counter next to each one that counts however many of each card you have. You can gamble more NIWAs to have a higher chance of getting a new card. Bet enough of them and you will have a 100% chance of a new one. Bet less than that and there's a chance you will get a duplicate. The more cards you have, the more points you have to bet to get a 100% chance. Eventually you probably won't be able to afford to go for 100% chances every time. That's why it is a gamble.

It seems so. Though I can see possible features that *could* be implemented if they wanted to, like trading the cards. I think it can be done.

I could only assume that's be the most convenient thing to do. :)
Matt hit the nail on the head.
I got several duplicates but but still says I have one of each
Yuh oh. That don't sound good. What duplicates are you getting?
each time said 145
(http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a420/Lord_Ferrok/Picture1.png)
Something's wrong here. There aren't even 145 cards.
I have all the cards now, now what? ...Back to stealing niwas from the ricer.
Ok, I got the trampoline duplicated, and now it isn't shown even once ;/
That's odd...Can you provide a screenshot, Laurus? It'll give me a better idea of what to do.

Well, it just doesn't appear in my inventory, as if I didn't have it.
Well, I'm a bit busy today, but I may have time to take a look tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.
See, this is what annoys me. Bugs that never come up in tests.
EDIT: I'm taking a look, but this may take a bit to fix. I can only guess where the bug may be, but I have no way of knowing for sure because I cannot replicate the bug.

Lord Ferrok keeps getting a card with the number 145.
I keep getting a number with 36.
145 is Lord Ferrok's member id, as mine is 36.
That should [hopefully] help you. I feel acomplished.
That explains why I have the trampoline 23 times.

There is no card number beyond 35 thus far. So everytime I get an "old card", it doesn't exsist.
[I don't get your math.]

Ok, even tho I bet 10,000 niwas, which gives me a 100% chance of getting a new card, I still get trampoline
Never mind that, it was cause I completed the collection :P

I didn't have a problem, even with 'Card #36'. I completed my collection, I don't know why you can't. Maybe it's because card 36 doesn't exsist, so a certain card that does... doesn't keep popping up.

Yes, that is VERY helpful, actually! Thanks, Austin! This should make finding the issue a lot easier.
It looks like there's a bug in the coding for getting an old card. The member ID must have mixed with the equation somehow. Should be simple to fix it.
Kinda off topic. Austin, how did you get almost 100k in the bank?

I gave him moneys.
Also, I believe I've fixed the issue. I was outputting the wrong info and updating the wrong thing. It should be fixed, now! =D
Ok, I made a post addressing that on the Admins board
Hey, nobody did anything wrong. I stole from Tucayo with the "Steal" item. Therefore, I received my cash through legitimate means. I can do what I please with it, so I gave some to Austin.

Ok, sorry, I thought that money had come from somewhere else. I now deleted all my niwas so I can't be stolen
No problem, dude. Mistakes happen.

How do you earn cards?
Quote from: Gamefreak75 on July 04, 2010, 01:45:06 AM
How do you earn cards?
You use points called NIWAs, which you earn by posting. You then select the "Cards" option at the top of the page. Go to gamble to bet the NIWAs for cards. The more cards you have, the more NIWAs you have to bet to ensure you get a new card. Currently there are not that many cards available. But as I understand it, more are coming. The next time we get a boost in the number of cards, the chance of getting a new one will go up for everyone. I know because I was the one that derived the formula for it.
I figured it out a while after my post. :P
I gambled once and got "Ax" so I stopped there.
I'm unfortunately addicted to it and used all my niwas. XD :(
Sorry for the double post but is it possible to actually trade cards?
Nope. You have to get em all yourself. It may become an actual "Trading Card" system later, but I'll have to talk to Edo about it. It's all his idea. I'm just the poor sap who coded it :P
Oh, because every time I play, I end up getting the Thunder Badge and Pep Brew (I think it's rigged :P). Also, I heard that there are going to be some more cards.
Nope, it's not rigged. Sometimes, you just get similar cards. It's all random.
And yes, more cards will appear sometime. Edo's doing all the development, and I made it easy to add new cards. So expect more to come!
My luck is just terrible. I have a 23% chance of getting a new card with 10 coins, but my luck kills it.
I haven't seen any Metroid cards yet. I hope some are added because it's a pretty big series.
Save up. It really eats NIWAs because that's how I made it ;)
You can't get em all for some small amount of money, now :P
Me and my addictive personalty, my greatest flaw. -_-'
sorry for bumping the thread, but will more be done with the system or is it just forgotten?

I'd like to know that as well.
I don't know to be honest, Edo and Neo were in charge of that
Just keep collecting lol. It'll be the next Yu-Gi-Oh! :]
Nice feature, I already have 10. Will they be adding more? How about a way to change doubles with someone?
