Title: The comic strip/book thread
Post by: TurtwigA on November 04, 2010, 11:46:31 PM
This thread is about comic books and strips,  whether they come from a newspaper or book.

Currently, I really like Peanut, and am reading a book that compiles various strips from the book.

Calvin and Hobbes.

I love Calvin and Hobbes! It can be philosophical, adventurous, and funny all in one strip. The way that things can be in such motion sometimes is great, and I think Watterson is right that it's sad that comics are being downsized.

Of course, I wasn't even alive when it was in the newspapers... but there are a bunch of the books in my house!

Do webcomics count? '-' I read a couple of webcomics, so...

If not, Calvin and Hobbes is YES worthy. I have a ton of the books of them, lol. I don't really remember being into any other comics much, though.

Webcomics I'm not sure of the case. Their is a thread for a favorite one. The favorite webcomic thread refers to individual ones though, so...

I don't really follow any, but I read Dilbert when I see it in the newspaper.

I really loved a comic strip called Brewster Rockit: Space Guy!, but they took it out of my Sunday paper and I rarely read the weekday papers.

I LOVE comic strips. My favorites are Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes, Garfield, Crock, and a couple of others.

If you want more videogame-centric webcomics, I recommend Brawl in the Family (http://www.brawlinthefamily.com/) and Awkward Zombie (http://www.awkwardzombie.com/comic1.php).

when i was little, i used to be hardcore into comic strips. i have like 100 comic strip books and i've read part of just about everything. i still check for the comics whenever someone in my family buys a newspaper :')

some of my favourites, past and present: Calvin and Hobbes, Life in Hell, Retail, Dilbert (The Dilbert Principle was like my favourite book when i was like, eight), Garfield (its not as funny now that Jon has a gf), For Better or For Worse

as for webcomics, all i really read consistently is CAD. i've read vgcats, super effective & awkward zombie, but i don't follow them super closely.
