If Nintendo Were to be an only-software company, would you still be a fan?
maybe, if they stuck with one company's system to release games on. (it's cheaper then buying more then one)
Yea, this makes sense. I would think they would go with SONY-exclusive releases before Microsoft.
OR maybe PC-only.....or *yack* Mac-only.
OOO!!!! maybe. What if they released there software on Linux systems! That would be awesome.
Macs are awesome though!!!
And, I would still be a fan. :mario:

^ What he said ^
Why all the Mac hate? *Takes cover*
So long as they don't go down the path Activison did.
So what you're saying is, would you still be a fan of Nintendo if it did the same thing Sega did?
Seeing what happened to Sega after going software only, probably not, or at least a drop in interest. I mean, seeing Sonic 4 they could make a comeback but still. If Nintendo were to drop off the map, Microsoft would gain the vital lead. Sony would go up in popularity seeing it's trying to be an HD Wii, which would replace the Nintendo Wii, and then the video game industry sees a massive turn.
By the way tacopill, why do you start these forums but never give an opinion? Sorta doesn't make sense, making an opinion related discussion topic and not adding any to it yourself...
I'm only a casual gamer, so I probably wouldn't care in the long run.
In the short run: Where are my Pokemon going to go?!

To answer your question, if i don't offer an opinion, then i am simply curious of what the community thinks. With these type of threads, i want to see people's opinions without an influence from me.
Anyway, to add my opinion. If Nintendo was to decide to go software-only, i would be sad, but I would still be a fan. See, i'm a fan of the company, its software, its hardware, even most of its business decisions.
If they were to go Software-only, i would be sad for no longer being able to enjoy there hardware. Just as if it went hardware-only, I'd miss its software.

Just as if it went hardware-only
That would be TERRIBLE!!!
Anyway, if they did I would probably only play it on a Sony console, since Microsoft's hardware sucks. If it's on a PC, Mac, or Linux only, then no. I would never play them.
*please don't kill me*
As long as Pokémon wasn't crippled by it. I can imagine connectivity problems (Generation III all over again).
I would. Provided the games are just as fun.

Puts down The BFG 9000 (http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Doom/Weapons#The_BFG_9000).
Anyway, I agree with Snorlax Monster and TurtwigA. So long as the games are still fun and not crippled by a shift in platform.
Tacopill attempts to swallow his pride.
And i would prefer Sony to the other Options. Sony has been around long enough for me to tollerate it, something Microsoft is years away from. ;D. Without Nintendo as a handheld competitor, i'd image the PSP would be the dominant Handheld Console in the market, with something by Apple following behind. (Although, does this mean that the iPad is a console. Hm.....).
Tacopill chokes in an attempt to swallow his pride.
i'd still be a fan of the classics
