What Pokemon Type combinations do you wish to see, but have yet to be in a game?
Note: even though Type-combos are order specific, please don't recommend something you know game freak won't do, like a Flying-Bug, a Flying-Dark, a Flying-Dragon, a Flying-Electric, a Flying-Fighting, a Flying-Fire, a Flying-Ghost, a Flying-Grass, a Flying-Ground, a Flying-Ice, a Flying-Normal, a Flying-Poison, a Flying-Psychic, a Flying-Rock, a Flying-Steel, a Flying-Water Pokemon. Also, no *-normals either.
-
Ghost-Fire, I didn't know the order of types made a difference
-
I didn't know the order of types made a difference
I'm not sure why it does, but the idea is signification enough for all the type pages (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Fire_(type)#Half_Fire-type_Pok.C3.A9mon) on bulbapedia to distinguish them.
-
A few things I would like to say:
There is no difference in the order of the types. I'm almost positive Bulbapedia does that to simply make it easier to read.
Most of the combos you listed not to list are already present, just with flying as the secondary type. In fact, it has been paired with everything except fighting.
Dark/Steel
-
If that's true, then this line (and similar lines found around bulbapedia) are meaning less:
"No Pokémon with Psychic-type as its primary type has a unique type combination. The same is vacuously true of Flying-type, since no Pokémon have it as their primary type." - Source (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_with_unique_type_combinations#Trivia)
-
I apparently wasn't clear. The order of the types has no effect on defenses, stats, or anything else. It only changes the order in which the types appear when the Pokémon is being viewed. Its only used to identify what someone is looking for when they want, say, a grass type. It just narrows down the options.
So Poochyena, for example, is just as fire-type as Heatran.
The first part of that sentence may seem redundant at first, but further thought reveals it as the best way to phrase that particular statement. In the second sentence, the word vacuously seems not to be doing anything, though it is otherwise perfectly true.
-
Ok, but Poochyena isn't fire....
And if it doesn't make a difference, i hope they introduce flying-as-a-primary-type, to prove it as such. I mean, what's the likelihood of there being no flying-normal if they are equal to normal-flying? It defies probability (or, at least my understanding of it)
(I am not doubting your statement, i just find it odd).
-
Did I say Poochyena? I probably meant Houndour. For some reason, I get them confused.
And if anything groundbreaking happens with Flying, I think it will be putting it by itself. But they probably won't until they can think of something that can only possibly be Flying type. In fact, as far as I know, it holds the record for most existing combinations, with everything except itself and Fighting
-
I also want some more Electric combos
-
i'd like to see fire-combos, like fire-electric, fire-water (a vapor?) and especially fire-ghost.
-
I want Ice combos.
Ice-dragon
Ice-Psychic
and Fire-Dragon and Electric-Dragon
-
I want Ice combos.
Ice-dragon
Ice-Psychic
and Fire-Dragon and Electric-Dragon
ooo, electric-dragon sounds nice....
-
A Rock-Dragon or Rock-Electric sounds good.
-
Dragon/Fire would be cool. I always wanted one of those. I'd also like to see Bug/Psychic.
-
Well, Reshiram is confirmed to be a Fire/Dragon type.
-
Electric-Ghost would be awesome. (Do they already exist?)
-
Electric-Ghost would be awesome. (Do they already exist?)
Rotom is an Electric-Ghost. So, ya.
What I would like to see is a Fire/Water type. Now THAT would be interesting.

steam....
-
Some more Fire combinations. Like Fire/Bug or Fire/Electric. Fire/Poison would be nice too.
Steel/Grass and Rock/Grass would be nice too. Maybe stone golem things with grass growing on them? Wait there's Lileep and Cradily.
-
While I don't have any I hope to see, I DID see information on a Bug/Fire-type. WTF?
On second thought, I'd kinda like to see an Electric/Fighting- or Ice/Fighting-type Pokemon.
-
Looks like I was right about a pure Flying-type (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Tornelos_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29)...

cool!
-
I haven't been paying attention to Generation V - because I don't want to spoil it - but I checked out your link; that Pokemon reminds me a lot of some dragon on Dragon Ball Z.
-
Fire/Grass
Water/Fire
I mean, we already have Water/Grass.
-
Fire/Grass
Water/Fire
I mean, we already have Water/Grass.
yea, true.
-
Psychic/ Dark would be cool... Like dark magic.
Fire and Ice, that would be awesome.
Psychic/Ghost
Ice/Steel
-
Normal/Ghost - simply because it is the only type combination that resists both Ghost and Fighting. This breaks the battle strategy of Ghost/Fighting, which is used because no Pokémon resists both Ghost and Fighting, meaning any Pokémon can be hit for neutral damage.
-
A fire and ice combo would be cool.
-
Ghost-Fire, I didn't know the order of types made a difference
YAY! I got my wish

Sweet. It's an entire evolution line based on candles.
And it's a level-up evolution followed by a dusk stone evolution; only evolution chain of that combination.
-

Seems kind of contradictory doesn't it? One with that type combination can't use any STAB hits on others of its species because Normal can't attack Ghost and Ghost can't attack Normal.

it would be interesting to see it vs. itself.

Oh wow, it's even better than I thought. It breaks a popular competitive battling strategy AND can't hit itself with STAB. As long as it had decent stats and an average movepool, it would go straight to OU.
-
Gamefreak better give me a Fighting/Flying next gen or else... I'll have to buy my Gen VI game 2 days after release... and I mean it!
Also a Bug/Dark would be cool or a Bug/Water that doesn't evolves into yet another Bug/Flying.

Yeah, a Fighting/Flying would be awesome. And i agree there are too many bug/flying (although, considering the amount of instincts that can fly in the real world, it sort of makes sense).
I wonder if an article about type combinations that currently don't exist would be useful on bulbapedia?
-
Not really... encyclopedias show what exists, not what you are missing because someone hasn't invented it yet.
Ice/Steel would be interesting to see, also a Electric/Poison with an attack that 20% poisons or paralyze.
In fact, forget about type combinations, I want more crazy moves with unexpected outcomes, those are the best addition to every Gen.

want to start a new thread "wanted (crazy) moves" ? ;D
-
Seems appropriate :P
Ghost/Grass, that's new. In fact I would propose a new evolution of Tangrowth with this type.

I say what I want the most is Ghost/Water. The ghost of a fish, perhaps?

that would be cool. We should get an artist in this thread to get some concept art up. ;D

A fish skeleton could work, too. But it just shouldn't be a ruined look.

XD I was thinking of the bone fish enemies from Twilight Princess when I wrote that. :P

While your new Pokémon is cool, we already have Water/Ghost.

Yea, i'm still learning all the new pokemon.
Edit: Water/Ghost Pokemon (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pururiru_(Pok%C3%A9mon))

I think a Grass/Dragon type would be quite interesting (and it would still be 4x weak to Ice).
Grass/Ghost would also be an interesting addition (a withered/wilted plant, perhaps?)
Someone earlier mentioned a Grass/Fire Pokemon (heh heh, Burning Bush? Brush Fire?), and I think that'd be amazing, as it would remove Grass' weakness to Fire, Ice, and Bug and Fire's weakness to Water and Ground. Give it good stats and you'd have a very competitive Pokemon.
Psychic/Ghost and/or Psychic/Dark would also be another amazing type combination.
I think that a Ground/Fighting type would be nice to have competitively as well, hitting with STAB Earthquake and Close Combat (if given those moves).
Steel/Ghost would make for a very impressive tank, being immune to three types and only being weak to Fire and Ground.
Fighting/Ghost would make for a nice (if frail) offensive Pokemon.
Bug/Psychic would be interesting in another way (although it was have six weaknesses).
-
Ghost/Steel Type,
Haunted Armor Pokemon
Abillity Magnet Armor
Immunity to Ground & Electric attacks unless burned
only weakness, fire
Ghost/Normal
Abilities: Normalize, Magic Guard,
Learns mostly physical attacks
Normal/Ghost - simply because it is the only type combination that resists both Ghost and Fighting. This breaks the battle strategy of Ghost/Fighting, which is used because no Pokémon resists both Ghost and Fighting, meaning any Pokémon can be hit for neutral damage.

For PokéFanon, I have a strange evolutionary line for trees planned. Budling, a Grass type, Gleereek, a Grass/Poison, and Disaflarest, a Grass/Fire type.
-
Fire and Water would be interesting
