Title: New Assist Trophies and Poke'ball Pokemon
Post by: Tattletale1 on December 08, 2010, 08:10:49 PM
Tell everyone which Pokemon you'd like to see in Poke'balls, and what new assist Trophies you'd like to see in a new Super Smash Bros Game,

I'd like to see Rosilina, Blaze the Cat, and Pokemon Ranger as Assist Trophies,

I'd like to see Victini, and the Ghost/Fire Pokemon, as new Poke'ball Pokemon,
How about you?

Please list what Pokemon you'd like to see come out of Poke'balls (as an item, not a character)

who is blaze the cat?

Cranky Kong for an assist trophy, like Mr. Resetti he'll talk non stop then KO them when they fall asleep.

I don't really care for the sonic series, I don't want sonic to return at all

Maybe the monkey from Super Monkey Ball could be an assist trophy. Could roll around in his ball, squashing people who get in his way. Not a Ninetndo character exactly but as a third part assist, he may work.

Squitter the Spider (Donkey Kong Country 2) shoots web at a player stopping them from moving

Pitch the Bird (Kirby's Dream Land 3) repeatedly attacks a player by divebombing them

Yes, though you probably mean Aaia because he's the mascot. Mimi is a female monkey, Gongon is a gorilla, and Baby is a baby monkey.

I'd agree, I use Baby the most in Super Monkey Ball 2. And just for an image:

Maybe it would work like Latias/Latios, all come out at the same time.

Probably:
Pidgit from Super Mario Bros. 2 that flies around and OHKOs anyone it touches.
Mr. Saturn is no longer an item and it uses the Phase Distorter to slow down the opponents (any other suggestions?)
Epona will trample over enemies, similar to Waluigi.
DCMC can cause all nearby opponents to fall asleep.

I would support this if it made sense. Think about it, Tabuu is the opponent of the fighters, why would it obey one of them?

well, one could argue that the multi-player battle mode is non-canonical , so if the item only appears in that mode, then it could make sense.

How about an assist trophy/Pokéball in one?

The assist trophy summons a random trainer (Hiker, School kid, aroma lady etc.) and they send out a Pokémon related to their type. These have different effects, like normal Pokéball Pokémon and are not available through normal Pokéballs.

The assist trophy releases the trainer, like a normal assist trophy releases an assist.

Rotom as Pokeball...
...How about Charon sending out Six Rotom each Possessing a diferent form once released, using Ice, Grass, Fire, water, Flying & Electric attacks

Tamagachi AT? only with Pacman as AT, and a Pacman Arcade Stage!

Blaze the Cat would use Fire.

Who says Tabuu has to obey anyone, he could decide to attack the player as well, even sucking fighters into Subspace!

So, he would be similar to a smart bomb, in the fact it is neutral when it comes to loyalty of "who threw it".

Is that really a smart bomb in that case? Anyways, ya, I think that's what he means.

But the best assist trophy ever, Goomba! It does absolutely nothing, and when it gets jumped on, it dies!

It could do minimal damage, 1-2% I feel. That would be awesome.

That would be good

Anyways, instead of Goldeen as a useless Pokémon (honestly, what idiot came up with that theory), the most useless Pokémon (who just splashes around) should be Magikarp (it is the useless Pokémon stereotype).

Look at Lt. Surge I just added to the Poll, Throwing Voltorb & Electrode at opponents,
With 2 Magneton swarming, then using Tri Attack (1 Electr/Ice, the other Elect/Fire) as the finale, or conbine with Raichu's Thunder to destroy any remainig duds.

Surge's movements would likely be inspired by the Anime, his HG/SS movements, Volton's movements from PBR.  He would likely throw Voltorb similar to how Solid Snake throws them, to save time on new animation.

Parakeet: Like Mr. Resseti, exept does Parakeet versions of the Characters' voice clips, and can change the background music to music from SD card, even changing vocals to Parakeet with AAC files.  Also plays sounds from 3DS sound in Parakeet form.

Nice. What game would that be from, or would it be original....

DSi Sound/3DS Sound, you can erase what you posted last in your next edit now, or reduce the font size to 3 using the font size optoion

Assist Trophy: Pong

Two paddles and a ball appear. The paddles keep knocking the ball around the stage, dealing damage to the characters but not the stage itself. The paddles could also be a help if you get knocked off the stage, you could hit the paddles, saving you.

It's called a budgie in the European DSi and 3DS (a budgerigar is a special breed of parakeet, from Australia popular here in the UK, but rarely anyone calls it its full name.)

It would be cool to see an assist trophy based on one of Nintendo's early toys, like the Rabbit Coaster before they made video games. If Starfy makes it as a character in SSB4, I'd be excited to see Old Man Lobber or something as an assist trophy, or maybe a specific character like Shinigami who could come from the background and grab a character with his net, KOing them if you do nothing to stop him.

How about Phanto from SMB2? The assist trophy could be Phanto and a key. When you grab the assist trophy, you actually grab the key so Phanto flies after you, so you have to throw it away (where it will easily stick to the hands of another player if it touches them. (Edit: That would probably work better as an item)
