10. Golden Sun: Dark Dawn- Not as good as I thought, but it's still not a waste of the money I payed to pre-order it.
9. Metroid: Other M- A great game and a nostalgia-inducing throwback to the days of old, but it just loses it's zing when you play it.
8. Star Fox Command- Falls flat of all the shoot em' up fun of the Star Fox series.
7. Pokémon Rumble- I thought this game would be good, but it gets boring after 3 minutes.
6. Super Paper Mario- Turning an RPG series into a platformer doesn't work out.
5. Mega Man 9- 10's better, that's all I have to say.
4. Metroid Prime Pinball- The worst Metroid game by far.
3. Guitar Hero World Tour- A boring game with all the punk rock fun from the prequel sucked out.
2. Pokémon Dash- No. Don't buy it.
1. Final Fantasy XIV- A disgraceful MMO that tarnishes the good name of Final Fantasy.

I'll repeat your Metroid: Other M, and add GoldenEye 007 (Wii), and while I wasn't "anticipating" it other than seeing it in the store and anticipating it as I brought it home, add Star Wars the Force Unleashed II.

aw i liked Pokémon Dash! :(
most disappointing game ever for me was definitely Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is legit one of my top 5 fav games of all time and i was so excited that there would be a sequel for the DS, but they wrecked it!! it's hard to exactly pinpoint what sucks about it, but it's not nearly as good and i was really disappointed. i also think in particular the bazaar system was a poor choice as it really limits the customisation of the job system, especially at the beginning of the game. ALL I WANTED WAS SOME NEW RACES AND JOBS WHY DID THEY MAKE IT BAD ;___;
EDIT: Monster Rancher Battle Card Episode II for the PS1 was pretty disappointing too. lacks the dungeon-crawling charms and goofy music/translation of the first game, bleh

Metroid: Other M wasn't disappointing lol. I was expecting the nastiness it is for a while. And it's not very nostalgic. It's just Metroid Fusion's story and Super Metroid elements in a blender. Blood gets everywhere.

Pokemon Black and White: Not really the fault of the game itself (although it lacks a LOT of features that I like), but more of the fandom which hyped it to high hell and back.
-
The fandom is the craziest Nintendo one there is. It's just so gigantic and closely tied that everyone starts getting less sane the minute they enter it. Whenever a new main series game comes, its bound to be overhyped. And when remakes come, it's impossible to still be sane.
As for me, HGSS: the game was definitely not that great was few people made the originals (GSC) seem.
-
i genuinely liked HGSS and while it lived up to my personal expectations, it got so annoying that people were
a) basically demanding that the games be made in the first place
b) treating it like the second coming of Christ or something when they were finally announced
-
I was expecting a few things from HGSS, but I didn't buy a whole lot into the hype regarding it. I had played the originals many, many years ago, so I knew quite a bit of what to expect. I enjoyed the games for what they were: remakes. I wasn't expecting the second coming of Jesus (not after FireRed/LeafGreen, which were nice in their own way as well).

FRLG ARE GODS.
But I've heard people saying that Epic Mickey was not as great as made out either.

It's the camera angle that does it.

While not really anticipated, I felt that Super Mario 64 DS was bad because of the control schemes.

Three control schemes, and they were all bad?
-
Yes.
-
I liked the control schemes.
