Following Nintendo’s third quarter earnings conference, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata confirmed in the question and answer session that Nintendo will develop and release a Pokemon game for the new 3DS system.
“Naturally, we expect 3D viewing to become one of the attractions when the new Pokémon title is released on Nintendo 3DS,” Iwata said.
Additionally, he addressed Nintendo’s potentially contradictory messages of releasing Pokmon for the 3DS, and yet warning parents in regards to the health effects the 3DS might have on children ages six and under.
“First of all, we are not saying that people 6 years old or younger should not play with Nintendo 3DS at all. Our recommendation is due to theories on 3D viewing which is more concerned with brain function rather than eyes,” he said. “We thought that the company should be proactive in letting such a theory be known to our consumers.”
Iwata said little more about the 3DS Pokemon game, providing no further details such as what type of Pokemon game it would be or when it would be released.
“I have no hesitation about the prospect that a Pokémon-franchise title will be released for Nintendo 3DS,” said Iwata.
The Nintendo 3DS will be released in the United States on March 27. Pokemon Black & White, which is designed for the DS system, will be released on March 6.

Maybe it's the third version to Black and White... or a sequel to Pokémon Snap where you can take pictures in 3D and send them to the 3DS menu-thing.

it kind of is and you use a key board for ds that comes with it and spell pokemon names ( i think)

Pokemon Battle & get! will probably have Mystery Gifting features, as well as typing/keyboard minigames,
The keyboard will probably be compatable with the, 3DS web browser, 3DS games involving typing, and the Wii System's internet Channel, given the bluetooth nature of the product...

XD would make a great Gen VI game! It would be interesting to be the first of that generation..... maybe even Version-ize it like the main series.

I heard the whole game will be in 3D (gameplay; not sure about visuals)
