It doesn't really come of as that good to me, honestly. I might get at some point.

to me the selling point of the game is the ability to ride a yoshi plus the fact that they've made this even harder than the original has me psyched ^^

The game doesn't have anything too new that's a big change in gameplay or experience.

It's not too early, since the game is due to come out in roughly 3 months. In fact, barely anything was revealed and that doesn't follow what Nintendo usually does with big commercial games like this. We've only had two trailers, with not much info to them. Same with Other M and Zelda Wii (the latte r of which has had nothing revealed about it, even though it should come out this year, supposedly.)

There is a third trailer.

We also have quite a bit of other information about the game. See this (http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2010/02/super-mario-galaxy-2-2/) and this (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/nintendo-media-super-mario/62382?type=flv), for example.

The gameplay trailer is almost the same as the second trailer, and the stuff that wasn't in the second trailer was just an extension of those scenes, and there was nothing too new.

*Points to super mario sunshine*

Seriously, the fruit changing how yoshi plays was totally taken from sunshine, just to a higher level.

i think that it is worth having since it's the first true Mario sequel snce Super mario world 2...

but seeing as i have never played it, i'm more likely to compare it to Super Mario Bros 2.

The fruit's similar to Sunshine, yes, but only superficially. The SMS and SMG2 fruits do completely different things in terms of gameplay.

In my opinion, the title ox art is too flashy.

it shows off more elements of the game then some of the previous games.
like the planets for example.

I was talking about the first Mario Galaxy where he was a dang plant.

Also its good to reuse older elements....well Sunshine isn't really old but you get the point.

Yeah, I'm probably gonna get it, but not immediately, it just doesn't give me that "WOW" feeling I had when I played galaxy.

well, now we know that theres gonna be more than one SMG game for wii, looking back at old terms, this will be the negelected one as the first and (third?) become the "greasest games on the console"

I haven't played this game yet.  ...I'm still sore from completing the first game with every star twice! :P

I don't like the fact that Nintendo recycles the plot of the first part without any explanation, and also that Miyamoto himself made sure to have as little story as possible in the game.

You can hate me for it, but continuity and story means a lot to me.

I hate when people bash Nintendo for doing that yet don't mind when FPS games do it

Like the executive said even,
"Who plays a Mario game for its story?"

Pfft, c'mon. It's like buying a Wii to play Gamecube games. And anyways, it got a masterful 10 out of 10 and IGN says that it's more challenging!

It's what I think, 'scuse me when you don't like hearing it.

You can rejoice, though, since I won't start any major discussion about it. I already know what the outcome would be like.

No, it's your opinion and no one can change it. I was just saying what the executive said, though.

I agree. I really wish Mario games focused more on the storyline and continuity. I know they don't and I still love them but that is just an area I wish they worked on more.
