That GD Goron dancing game is the first thing that ever prevented me from 100% completing a LoZ title. I've given up long ago. I'll never have the missing rings bc of that minigame. If it at least played the same songs in the same order, I'd have it whupped.

I kid you not, afterall I still brag that I executed a Goron roll through the entire Goron stage on the moon. I have witnesses who were at my house when I was determined to beat it. Afterwards, I got online to brag about it and people were like "Why didn't you just roll to perform the jumps, and just walk the rest of the way?"

Truth is, I didn't know you could :p so I made all of those crazy narrow turns and jumps all in one speeding blurry run.

I play Zelda for Boss fights, so I have a few favorites:
  • Dark Link- #1 sword fight ever! At least in AoL, and OoT, FSA-not so much
  • Goht and Stallord- different bosses but same reason, fast paced boss fights are just awesome!
  • Garo-These were fun and unique characters to fight. best minibosses in MM!
  • Darknuts in TP- The reason that you probably hate having to confront one is probably the same reason I like em.

Now if I were just list up some common enemies, then I'd go with Pol's Voices because they're so odd; Bits and bots in AoL bc I got skilled enough to just hop from one kill to the next doing downthrusts(good times :p); and the miniblin hoard on Pawprint Isle in WW.

I can't get past Dark Link in Skyward Sword! What am I missing!!!???

The previous Alliance Request thread has served its purpose, but as a casualty of our hasty setup became unmanageably messy.  Also many of the options we have now didn't exist then. We can now add Affiliates which can be any manner of site that supports NIWA or its member wikis.

Consider all previous requests void! We're starting over with new options. We realize NIWA is still young and may change later, but affiliating can be the absolute first step for a candidate wiki to join as a full NIWA wiki. When suggesting a site consider whether they would fit as:
  • Affiliates: Wikis and forums supportive of NIWA and/or its members.
  • Membership Requests: If the wiki seems ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with the rest, let us know that the submission is a membership request. The staff will need to host a private discussion, but the first step should be a new thread on the site.
  • New Wiki Startups: Be clear if your submission is a new wiki intended for NIWA membership. Although we can't build your wiki for you, we can offer guidance, connections, and a place to discussion its potential.

I'm still considering contests or rewards for people's achievements at WiKirby. Some way to give niwas as a gift. Like for someone's 1000th edit, send them some niwas.

Thank god I'm not the only one that hasn't finished one of these games. I'm at the last battle in Days of Ruin, the last f n battle and the dude overkills me no matter what I do. If saving the world were up to me, then we'll just have to accept our fate, because I don't see me beating that guy.

Dual Strike is new to me and I'm liking it less than Days of Ruin. The graphics, characters, story, all of it really. :p The story is going like a cheesy fan-fiction where all of the lines of good and evil, friends and enemies, etc are clear and 50 miles thick. DoR really had hazy lines bc you often fought alongside a force that you knew would end up being your enemy. Or took missions that the CO objected to but had no feasible alternatives. I'm tempted to write up some major spoilers but I won't.

Graphics aren't great, but with there's no mistaking a recon unit for a small tank. I've sent a few recons to their death in DS bc I thought they were tanks. -shrugs-

More props to that song, It's also being played on the spaceshuttle that's drifting out with the intention of aliens finding it. If they ever do, Louisiana will be the only state they know  :eekdance:

Hey Axiomist, what do those Canvas Curse articles include, as in, what are they about? Because I think it could lead to other pages about other games.

Well I wrote up a bit about all of the subgames in it, and a few other things like the Rainbow Lines. I started Reddy Land but its nowhere near completed. I was going to start each level article and have the stages as sections that we can redirect Plant Plain, Tiny Town, etc to. I figured to start them as one nice clean well length article and if it looks too bulky we could split it up.

Before I get too involved with Squeak Squad I'll go around and make sure item articles are existing and well done. Stuff like Maxim Tomato, food, invisibility candy, blocks, etc

Probably not, I suspect "dwindling returns" for most future Nintendo Wikis. The biggest are in, except one more that will be added soon. For the most part, from here on out, I think we'll be looking at dedicated backing of each wiki from its fan community as a factor. Some of the others have a lot of potential, Star Fox, Earthbound, Animal Crossing, and Smash Bros for example. They have fragmented communities and the only existing wikis are on wiki farms. If some effort to unite the fan base under a single independent wiki can be achieved, I suspect they'll make great NIWA member sites.

The main obstacle, I think, is that people will have a hard time letting go of the work they did on a wiki farm-even if it means missing out on what may someday be the better known site. I think the passions for the independent wikis are so high because people can visit them and actually feel the creator's own love for the series. To me, the Neoseeker, wikispaces, etc sites feel more impersonal and disconnected than they actually are-but the few people that work on them should be approached delicately if creating a "rival" wiki. I say rival for a lack of a better term, we don't really compete head to head like sports teams or offline businesses do.

I just bought 2 games today! Squeak Squad and Dual Strike! I've gotta work on Canvas Curse articles, but I'll play it here and there to mix things up. Dual Strike is because I'm working on the Wars Wiki main page and figured I should at least play more than Days of Ruin.

Awesome how all 4 of the shown calendar page images are NIWA wikis!

I'm glad you made the reminder, I've never played Ace Attorney myself. But a larger wiki base for NIWA appeals to me. Anyway, since I've just posted a strategy plan for new wikis, I'm wondering if you have read it. Feel free to discuss it in the thread or via pm. Since it's basically "OUR (NIWA's) New wiki plan" I ask that it not be made fully public.

Kirby / Re: Favorite Kirby Game!

I'm picking Amazing Mirror too, my reason is that it's so similar to a Zelda game. Specifically Four Swords, but that might be because of Flagship's involvement with both titles (iirc).

You should give the references 100% and have a post with links to each member's policy pages.

NIWA Discussion / Re: Suggestions

All of you starting or wanting to start a wiki for NIWA membership, pm me now! I'm going to write up a general strategy for new wikis and if you can't access the staff board, I'll need an email addy to contact you on. I'll maintain a Google Doc so you can see the New Wiki Roadmap, or whatever we call it when it is done. The plan will of course be optional, but if followed should be a major help to get going, get NIWA membership, and somewhere down the road become a successful wiki.

I've been thinking about this. I think we've been misusing the Alliance Requests thread. Let's reserve that one for existing wikis like Wars Wiki and GameHiker. They were around for a long time before NIWA. For startups from members of this forum we could have the NIWA Maternity Ward.

Aww dude! MST3K is so awesome! I miss it... You can hate me for it, but I even loved The Movie. That's the one movie that can make me crack up laughing uncontrollably.
