Is not the only one confused about Lord Ferrok's comment.

As someone who has only recently found out about the seeecret forums (I didn't realise I could see them ) I must point out that they really aren't as elite and exciting as some of you are imagining.
Quote from: Garrett on December 13, 2010, 09:55:25 PMYeah, I've always wondered - some of those conversations don't seem to get finished on the public boards. Now I understand.
A large part of it is comprised of suggestions (like this thread, but not organised all in one place). Many of the ideas going on there have been discussed in the public boards already (a general Nintendo wiki, SEIWA, etc.) and then simply become more clearly defined in private before the big public reveal of the final product.
Quote from: Garrett on December 13, 2010, 09:55:25 PMI'm really sorry for saying this, but I don't know that I would call N-wiki's status "detailed and impressive" just quite yet. There's quite a bit of room to grow, though I'm sure it's more impressive now than it would have been in, say, September.
NintendoWiki is a prime example of this; it was first set up in May, but those months of secret development meant that it was able to launch in a detailed and impressive state.
Quote from: Garrett on December 13, 2010, 09:55:25 PMBut I'd still like to know what happened . Take Fantendo, for instance. I've heard nothing beyond the fact that the interaction with them didn't end so well.
Holding the wiki membership discussions privately has its advantages as well. Not every proposed member will actually end up joining (for a variety of reasons), so this way people don't get their hopes up about something that might not happen.
Quote from: Garrett on December 13, 2010, 09:55:25 PMYes, this exists. However, it's not very hard to guess which one is next. I've predicted correctly almost every time.
There's also the added fun of guessing which wiki might be revealed next.

Well there is a Sega Retro group, and a wiki named Sonic Retro. Sonic wiki is much much smaller in comparison. I asked, but haven't gotten a response, about whether or not those two wikis are on good terms.
how many other series does sega have?

B.... but where would a Professor Layton wiki go, then? ;o;
(And before you say "start up a Level-5 IWA"... it would end up being really small and having like, three different wikis. :V)
I was wondering about that too.

I don't think we should be recruiting anyone until internal problems have been resolved.

I thought GameHiker was the wiki where unwikid series would go? :/
GameHiker would be a better place to build a new wiki's content. The scope is NWiki is meant to be on the technical Nintendo stuff that few of us care to write about at FanWikis. The game pages are meant to be short, brief coverages of the game, and link to the NIWA member for the indepth coverage. So while NWiki certainly should have character, level/dungeon, item, boss pages; GameHiker does include Notable Characters, Important Items, etc. I'm certain any work to later be imported type deal could be struck with them; and I'd imagine they would retain content that falls within their scope.
