The Lounge / Re: say something about the above person

Is not the only one confused about Lord Ferrok's comment.

Because it doesn't deserve an answer.

Why is there a vacuum cleaner in my bedroom?

Pokémon / Re: Who's that Pokémon!? rules added!

Spiritomb

In the wild, this pokemon's only move removes it from battle, making it hard to catch.

Who's being unintelligent? Everyone here is entitled to their own opinion and their own method of posting. In comparison with GameFAQs, I think this forum is a much more pleasant place to be. The absence of trolls is quite nice, as is the respect that the people here give one another.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Remakes for 3DS: N64 & GCN
December 16, 2010, 09:12:04 PM
As much as Gamecube games are now possible to remake, they're still accessible through the Wii (and I use that feature quite often).  I think N64 games are more deserving as far as remakes go, so I voted for the four of them.

Jigglypuff

This pokemon is said to be a hibernating granter of wishes.

Mad Cow Disease.

Why do sick cows get so angry?

Judging by those descriptions, it seems I would be a Jupiter.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: which is better?

This is a really difficult choice, considering I really enjoy all three.  I have phases of favoritism.  If I had to pick one, it would be Zelda, I think.

Ah! I see. :D That makes much more sense. Gotta commend those that put time and effort into their wikis. Thanks for clarifying :) Let's hope the list of Wikia converts continues to grow in time.
#73
More than that.  Here's the list I started:

SmashWiki
Pikipedia
Pikmin Fanon
Animal Crossing City => Animal Crossing Wiki
Arwingpedia => Lylat Wiki
Donkey Kong Wiki
Golden Sun Universe
(Plus F-Zero Wiki, which I'm pretty sure is on its way)

On a more curious note, I'm not sure I understand what was meant by your post.  Are you implying that NIWA has too many Wikia-converts? Or am I misreading that?

Mario / Luigi's Mansion
December 15, 2010, 02:43:42 AM
One of my all-time favorite games, and one of the only ones I've cared to beat more than twice (and even three times, I think).  I've often wanted a sequel because I loved the first, but also because poor Luigi doesn't ever seem to get enough action of his own.  The idea of remaking it for the 3DS has even been suggested.  What do you think? Would you like to see more of this spinoff?

As Axiomist did say, NIWA is still young, and there is plenty of time to make improvements.  I too apologize if I've overstepped my bounds.  Just as everyone else is, I'm only here because I want to see NIWA grow into something fantastic.  After this week is over I'll be editing like crazy over at Fire Emblem Wiki so that we'll be that much closer to joining.

As someone who has only recently found out about the seeecret forums (I didn't realise I could see them :D) I must point out that they really aren't as elite and exciting as some of you are imagining.
Still, the knowledge that what I can see isn't everything irks me.

A large part of it is comprised of suggestions (like this thread, but not organised all in one place). Many of the ideas going on there have been discussed in the public boards already (a general Nintendo wiki, SEIWA, etc.) and then simply become more clearly defined in private before the big public reveal of the final product.
Yeah, I've always wondered - some of those conversations don't seem to get finished on the public boards. Now I understand.

NintendoWiki is a prime example of this; it was first set up in May, but those months of secret development meant that it was able to launch in a detailed and impressive state.
I'm really sorry for saying this, but I don't know that I would call N-wiki's status "detailed and impressive" just quite yet. There's quite a bit of room to grow, though I'm sure it's more impressive now than it would have been in, say, September.

Holding the wiki membership discussions privately has its advantages as well. Not every proposed member will actually end up joining (for a variety of reasons), so this way people don't get their hopes up about something that might not happen.
But I'd still like to know what happened :P. Take Fantendo, for instance.  I've heard nothing beyond the fact that the interaction with them didn't end so well.

There's also the added fun of guessing which wiki might be revealed next. :)
Yes, this exists. However, it's not very hard to guess which one is next. I've predicted correctly almost every time.

Sorry for dissecting your post :(. I suppose it's not a tragedy that we can't see everything, but it gets annoying when you all are like "We can't tell you yet. Teehee ;D".

Well there is a Sega Retro group, and a wiki named Sonic Retro. Sonic wiki is much much smaller in comparison. I asked, but haven't gotten a response, about whether or not those two wikis are on good terms.

how many other series does sega have?

According to Wikipedia, a whole bunch, but none have really been successful since they stopped making their own consoles (with a few exceptions, like Super Monkey Ball).

Professor Layton belongs to Level-5, as far as I'm concerned.

B.... but where would a Professor Layton wiki go, then? ;o;

(And before you say "start up a Level-5 IWA"... it would end up being really small and having like, three different wikis. :V)

I was wondering about that too.

Remember that at one point in time, NIWA had three different wikis, and it was still NIWA.  That said, your point is quite clear, Level-5-IWA wouldn't go very far.  We've talked about the idea of a meta-IWA before.  What if the meta-IWA included individual wikis that didn't fit into a certain IWA category (if and when a meta-IWA is created)?

I don't think we should be recruiting anyone until internal problems have been resolved.

Sounds like a fair plan. To what internal problems might you be referring?

I thought GameHiker was the wiki where unwikid series would go? :/

GameHiker would be a better place to build a new wiki's content. The scope is NWiki is meant to be on the technical Nintendo stuff that few of us care to write about at FanWikis. The game pages are meant to be short, brief coverages of the game, and link to the NIWA member for the indepth coverage. So while NWiki certainly should have character, level/dungeon, item, boss pages; GameHiker does include Notable Characters, Important Items, etc. I'm certain any work to later be imported type deal could be struck with them; and I'd imagine they would retain content that falls within their scope.

We're planning on recruiting GameHiker then, I presume?
