I heard about this today, and while I was looking for the thread about it, I was having trouble finding it until I looked in the staff forums. Shouldn't this thread be available for all NIWA users to see? The whole userbase should have access to this thread, I see no reason for it to be available to the staff only.

Regardless, while I didn't know him personally and thus don't have much to say, R.I.P. Axiomist.

NIWA Discussion / Re: DKWiki is under serious attack

Same guy hit SmashWiki, as you may have seen; just revert, block and be sure to restrict account creation on the block form.  Is there something more major that would need to be done?

The vandal had a changing IP, so that was ineffective. Regardless, he is gone for now.

Lucas is good too i use him sometimes. He probably has one of the strongest up smashes.

In terms of KO percentage, it is the second strongest. However, being 7th in knockback scaling, other u-smashes can KO faster on stages with higher ceilings, and when you factor in DI and momentum cancelling.

About as possible as beating Falco on Jungle Japes with Ganondorf.

Are the Ninja's only natural predator re-spawning hawks that camp out above bottomless pits?

That bump could be a dangerous parasite living in your hand, and I would like to avoid coming in contact with it.

What does Donkey Kong do when he can't find the banana cream pie?
#6
Nah, I once saw a swarm of red ants and blacks ants fight, with wasps there to back up the red ants. The Kong's banana hoard can't hold up to that.

How much higher on the tier list would Ganondorf be if he was swapped out for Brawl Minus Ganondorf?

Super Smash Bros / Re: Worst character

Quote from: Omega Tyrant on November 25, 2010, 01:26:10 PMFor my least favorite though, which I believe this forum is about, it is Samus, who is my worst character as well. Her aerial game is horrible, her offensive capabilities are among the worst, and winning matches with her boil down to battles of attrition. I simply do not like her style at all, and it does not sync with me well.
The bolded part made me lul, though I otherwise agree with this assessment.

Half the cast in Melee sucks, and 90% of characters in SSB have several zero-to-death combos anyway, so I'll just stick to Brawl.  The only character I dislike using is Sonic, simply because you either need great mindgames or a Smash Ball to defeat a worthy adversary with him.

As for who I dislike playing against:  Dedede, Snake, and Olimar, in that order.  In the right hands, and without lag, they're pretty much impossible to approach with anyone below A-tier.

Of course, I also hate Meta Knight, but so does every other competitive player who doesn't main him.

Samus clearly has one of the worst aerial games in Brawl. Her aerial attacks are just awful. There's no luling about that. Nair is an extremely weak sex kick that will never KO under even 200%, and is just a quick, horizontal knockback producing hit with no follow up capability. Fair is a very poor multi-hitting aerial with poor reach that does low damage and barely any knockback (but it does have minor usefulness for defensive capabilities due to favorably placed, disjointed hitboxes with low start-up/ending/landing lag). Uair is like the fair, except upwards with even poorer reach (not to mention lacking the disjointed hitboxes of the fair), and less usefulness overall (it will never KO at realistic percentages nor does it have juggle capabilities). Her bair, while powerful when sweetspotted (it is her only aerial that can KO grounded opponents under 150%), is very difficult to sweetspot (one has to land a very small hotbox on her foot to do so), and when not sweetspotted, is incapable of KOing at percentages not in excess of 175%. Plus, it has noticeable ending/landing lag while having an awkward hitbox reminiscent of Ike's bair (as in, barely any vertical reach). And when it comes to her dair, while a solid meteor smash with high knockback scaling and a favorable hitbox, it has very low base knockback (opponents will have to be above 50% for it to successfully meteor) with the traditional slow start-up of a meteor smash, and is overall not that useful on grounded opponents (it won't star KO them under 150% despite its high knockback scaling, and popping opponents up isn't very useful as Samus lacks an effective vertical follow up).

So, are you still going to lul for me calling her aerial game horrible when in face of these facts? (Plus, you agree with the rest of my sentiment about her, including her having horrible offense. Now, wouldn't having terrible aerial attacks (which translates to poor aerial game) heavily hinder one's offensive capabilities?)

Judging by the name, the user above must be a fan of Turtwig.

With over 400 episodes, I'm pretty sure they done that a few times.

What would happen to the world of Smash Bros. if Ganondorf never fathered Captain Falcon?

The Ditto Mario equips a Hammer Bros. suit and unleashes a volley of hammers upon the hapless heroes.

My favorite enemy is probably the Iron Knuckle from OoT. You couldn't flinch him, and he took four hearts away from you in one hit (ahh, the good old days when Zelda enemies could do more than a half heart worth of damage). But then they nerfed him in MM by giving half the health, and just removed the Iron Knuckle from post N64 Zelda games, perhaps in favor of the inferior Darknut.

The Garos from MM were another favorite that hasn't appeared since the N64 Zeldas.

Other favorites include OoT Stalfos (by far the best incarnation of Stalfos), MM ReDeads, Bongo Bongo, and OoT Ganondorf.

MM has things no other Zelda has, but the temples and bosses are my favorite part of Zelda, and OoT destroys MM in that department. OoT have twice as much dungeons/temples (including two mini dungeons of sorts), with OoT's temples being superior and more memorable imo, along with much better, challenging, and more memorable bosses. Plus, OoT's Ganondorf was a better and more epic main antagonist than Majora's Mask was, along with giving us one of the best/most epic final boss fights in video games. Majora Mask on the other hand, gave us a final boss fight that, while having the traditional stages of a final boss fight, wasn't really good or challenging, and lacked the epicness a final boss should have.

No, I hate Mudkipz!  >:(

If Fox was mind controlling Wolf to not let us do that, why would he mind control Wolf to not let himself do that?
#16
Because he wears high tech overalls with built in heating and cooling systems that adjust according to the climate Mario is in, thus he never has to change if the weather is too hot or too cold.

Why can't Wolf let us do that?

It was a tough choice between OoT and LttP, but for nostalgia sake, having by far my favorite incarnation of Ganondorf, and for having imo the best/most epic final boss fight in any video game I played, I chose OoT. Though LttP provided the greatest challenge, and of course, has the most temples (huge plus for me). These are also the only Zelda games I played through to completion more than once.

The Zelda games since these and MM were far too easy for me, and their bosses imo aren't as good and memorable as the ones of OoT and LttP were (WW's bosses were a huge downer for me).

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Favorite Glith/Hack in a game
November 25, 2010, 01:54:08 PM
Is it bad if I bump a months old forum here?

Anyway, my favorite glitch is the Black Hole glitch from Melee. Such an awesome glitch that would bring your character to excess of 999% in seconds, before violently spitting them to their doom. And you can't forget the epic lag it caused as well.

Another favorite is good old Missingno from the old Red and Blue. Some of my fondest memories of R/B were of Missingno.

Also, glitch is misspelled in the forum's title :/

Super Smash Bros / Re: Which is your favorite SSB game?
November 25, 2010, 01:39:21 PM
It's Brawl for me, I enjoy the more requirement for cerebral skill, and the less requirement for fast fingers. While Brawl isn't a balanced game, Melee wasn't either, and imo, Brawl has better balance, even if it does have Meta Knight.

Super Smash Bros / Re: What's your main?

My mains in Brawl are Snake, King Dedede, and Wolf. Lucario and Kirby are rather borderline, but I considered them mains as well for now. Ganondorf is my old bottom tier main, who I'll often play (though I won't use him in any important matches)

Back in Melee, even though I don't really play it anymore, my sole main was Ganondorf (he was so much better in Melee). He was beyond everyone else for me in it. Secondaries of Melee were Captain Falcon (who also got screwed over in Brawl, though not as badly as Ganondorf), Falco, and Bowser.
