Oussama...I think I saw him edit once or twice...

EDIT: He was blocked for "disruptive editing"

Neo's just our coding monkey, our drawing monkey is Edo, talk to him about that.

But if Edo's overworked, all of the sites have an image namespace...except bulbapedia

For the staff one we could easily set a staff membergroup as secondary, they'd be able to get into the staff boards without being considered staff.

And for the other thing, I think so too. Plus, adding a 5,000 membergroup encourages people to try to reach 5,000 posts.

Yes, and the site needs many more contributors.

For competitions?
Maybe a "Best Article" competition, or a "Best Transition from Stub to Full Article" award (that could be determined by looking at the history of the article). Those would be simple to do, although for wikis that are still lacking in content it would be rather disadvantageous to them.

Maybe a community awards for the anniversary? Best members (I nominate tacopill), most helpful staff, most edits NIWA-wide, etc... Be fun, different, and wouldn't hurt morale.
I think Wiki-vs-wiki competitions would be highly biased but best member (NIWA-Wide) is a good idea...

whatelesedidyousay

I also said that "the whole thing is very drawn out".
That closes up all loopholes that anyone could find.

I know that the member wikis host events/competitions, but why doesn't NIWA host some events/competitions of its own? Maybe a competition between the wikis?
That could be slightly demoralizing...

If we were to make a competition, what would it be about?

And we are trying to avoid being compared to government systems, not act unpolitical. We don't want people thinking of us as a <insert government system here> but that doesn't mean we don't want to separate totally from all politic-related stuff.

And the fluff/cliches/whatelesedidyousay is what makes it from a statement to a manifesto. Nothing is official unless it's filled with fluff :)

A function, Special:Renameuser - talk to your local bureaucrat (that's what it's usually set to IIRC)

OK, I'm going to continue this here.

On IRC, you can:

-Take logs
-Register nicknames
-Make channels restricted to only certain people's accounts

Just like on Skype. However on IRC you can discuss without registering an account and being invited into a channel group or whatever skype needs to be done. I may seem a bit biased, I just find skype too hard to set up just to use IM. Aside from that, #niwa can be active if people just go to it. And trust me, Darkmyst isn't too hard to understand - I can post up a tutorial if anybody wants me to.

OK, I already asked this question, do you want #niwa to be more active? If people here promise they will use it, I can attempt to make the channel a more active place. The channel was originally abandoned because nobody went there, if people start going there again, we can try to return it to activity.

I honestly don't have a problem with the "technical" terms. Almost all of them, if not all, have articles on the wiki explaining what they are, and I didn't have trouble figuring what "semi-floaty" and "glide" meant.
The technical terms should really have links on them to pages describing what they mean. However, I found "glide" pretty blatant without any need for explanation, but if there is a page for it, it should still be linked to.
All SSB slang terms should have their own articles IMO, a definition as to what they are.

However I don't think it's up to us to decide this. The SSB staff are perfectly capable of making those changes if necessary. We just have to trust them.

Um...I think that thread links to #niwa and I think we abandonned that channel...

If you want me to try making that channel more active I can...

It does lead to #niwa, right?

1. My "EDIT 2" was the second edit made to my original post

EDIT 2: Through several edits, I managed to move the coding around so that if it says {{notes|treasure}} and the stuff doesn't exist, the links won't appear. However even though the links don't appear, they still somehow manage to wind up on Special:Wantedpages, so, I am going to make an educated guess and say that there is no way to have that template without the links. Either {{#ifexist}} was never meant to be used in transclusions (I really doubt that) or {{#ifeq}} and {{#ifexist}} are not able to be used together (more likely).

That would be my "EDIT 2"

2. Reboot: Yes, I did.
3. Greenpickle: I think it's been established that it's a bug >_>

I think SmashWiki's coverage is their business; if they want to go more in-depth, it's not up to NIWA to decide. This should be suggested on their forums.

Secondly, a community story is a nice idea, it could be fun, why don't you go to The Lounge board and open up a thread asking people if they want to write a chapter (no use sending it to someone who doesn't want to write).

"Luv" is not a word. Slang does not make it a proper word. You cannot just invent words. Wrong. My English education tells me so.

But I spelled "luv" right :)
I said it was spelled right, I never said it wasn't slang :P

OK, if it's legal, let them in. Even if Nintendo disapproves of it. It's not like we're getting anything from Nintendo, we don't want to be held in a legal squabble but if Nintendo doesn't like us, oh well.

For example, we refuse to impose any policies or rules upon our members.

Another IWA may not.

OK, I now think there is a real problem; before I had just dismissed it as a server lag but I did some detective work and found the problem.

The {{#ifexist}} function on this page is messed up.

EDIT: From what I understand, {{#ifexist}} is "if it exists|if it does not exist" and you have a link on the "if it does not exist" side.
