Looks like I was right about a pure Flying-type...

The Lounge / Re: Final Fantasy Alliance
« on: September 16, 2010, 07:07:12 PM »
  • Do you know any final fantasy wiki & fansite's i should approach about this?
I don't know of any, but a quick search on Google didn't reveal anything active that's non-Wikia.

  • Should i focus on just final fantasy, or all of Square Enix?
Final Fantasy on its own is huge. I don't think an entire Square Enix Wiki would be a good idea, at least at this point.

  • Would 1 wiki suffice to cover all of them, or should each game have a separate wiki?
I think one wiki would work, but(if you're intent on keeping things from separate games separate) you could give each game it's own namespace like on this non-Nintendo Wiki. (Mods, sorry if that counts as advertising, but from what I understand of the rules here, it is only considered advertising if the sole purpose of the post is "go to this site". I am completely fine with editing out the link if you disagree.)

The Lounge / Re: Wikia announces new layout

Every once in a while, I start thinking people's hate for Wikia is out of proportion. "Not everything there is horrible," I'll say, "I know a few wikis there that are actually decent. Arguably even better than those run independently."

Then the ******* ******** **** themselves like a ****** ******* with half a gallon of horseradish.

If you cannot detect the attempt at humor in the second part of that, I declare you brain dead.

Whismur.

This Pokémon lived in jungles around 100 million years ago. Its skull is as hard as iron.

Other Media / Re: What are you reading now?
« on: August 06, 2010, 03:15:59 AM »
I generally have at least three books I'm reading at the same time. Right now, sitting on my desk is:

The Subtle Knife, Phillip Pullman
Changes, Jim Butcher
Princeps Fury, Jim Butcher
First Lords Fury, Jim Butcher(The man is a genius)
A Brief History of Time, Stephen Hawking

And, perhaps most importantly, Uncle John's Awe-Inspiring Bathroom Reader, The Bathroom Reader Institute.

My desk is not exactly organized. I wouldn't be surprised to find the original charter for the Mayflower floating around in a drawer somewhere.

Pokémon / Re: Pokémon Ranger

I have the first one, and I like it for maintaining the same general theme of the main games, but having drastically different game mechanics.

I don't have the second one, but I plan to get it eventually(I'm rather slow when it comes to buying games), and I like what I've heard about it so far.

As for the third, I know practically nothing about it other than the title and the name of the region. I will probably wait a while before buying it, but I have a few friends who've played it, and they like it.

Graveler.

When more stars appear at night, the spots on it's back grow larger.

Wargle/Wooguru/Whatever Romaji you want to use

This Pokemon is usually docile, but if it is disturbed while sipping honey, it will chase off the intruder with its single horn.

Pokémon / Something I've Noticed
« on: July 22, 2010, 03:22:40 AM »
I've noticed several people on almost all fansites who hate Generation V Pokémon already. I've also noticed that several people hate Generation IV Pokémon. Most of them don't even give a particular reason, and when they do have one, it rarely goes beyond "They're not enough like Generation III."

Similar things are happening in the Anime. Two months ago, at least on one site(which will go unnamed), Dawn was hated almost unanimously. Now that the new female character has been leaked, the same people are demanding that Dawn not be replaced. During her period of hate, nearly all of it was on the basis of "She isn't anything like May." And during Generation III, May was hated for not being Misty.

Now, I'm a relatively new fan, so enlighten me. Is there some law that states that anything new is automatically cr*p, and the thing it replaced was better than anything that came before it, regardless of opinion of it before? Because that's the only reason I can think of that would explain this.

Pokémon / Re: Black or White?

Now that we have a pair of version-exclusives, I will still say White for now. Rankurusu looks alot better than Gochiruzeru, to my tastes.

Mawile.

This Pokémon is the mascot of a site who's title comes from it's Japanese name.

The Lounge / Re: Worst Joke You've Ever Heard
« on: July 20, 2010, 03:21:08 AM »
The absolute worst I have heard came from The Drew Carey Show. The protagonist told a joke he claimed could not offend anybody:

Some people walk into a place. The end.

In hindsight, I feel it might offend professional comedians.

Not a problem. For some reason, people always think they know me from somewhere else. Sometimes I get the feeling that I have hordes of evil clones running around the world.

I haven't meat anyone as far as I know, but on my dad's side, I'm related to both Upton Sinclair and (unfortunately)Miley Cyrus.

A few years ago, my brother and I came up with "Poluteon" for Poison, "Puncheon" for fighting, (not so)strangely, we also came up with Insecteon.

Right now, how about:
Dragon=Dracoleon
Ground=Geon

Can't think of any more.
