I might have said Diddy Kong's Quest, but after playing Returns I must say that it is equally challenging and fun to play so it really has won me over, but still Diddy's will always have something DKCR lacks...

Basically, the concept is you ask a not serious question, respond with a silly answer and add your own question. It can witty, humorous and such but of course keep forum rules in mind.

While Donkey Kong Country and DKC2 are my all-time favorites, if I had to choose one it's DKC2 for it's depth and pure challenge. Truly awesome games, though I wish I had DKCR to judge alongside with the others.

@Rarelover: Extremely well put. However the wiki itself is short of contributors now and I barely know much about DK past the 'Country trilogy myself. If you set some examples on the wiki that would be great.

@Taco: Well said, well said. I wouldn't close the thread just yet though, perhaps a little longer if anyone else has any more cents to spare.

Let me explain. This will be a mouthful and a half.

You see, in the early days of the wiki (then on Wikia), several articles were copied off MW out of desperation. I'm fully aware of that. However, I purposely go out of my way to differ from MW as much as possible. I simply believe there is way too much DK info on the MarioWiki. In most cases, articles are rewritten to be different from MW, and we've been slowly revamping articles. It's been a gradual process between adding info and changing other info. Currently the wiki has 688 articles.

Of course we have articles on the exact topic. It happens. There are differing styles in most cases. The DKWiki has some information that MW does not, and the other way around. The same goes with images and such. Even editors have come from MarioWiki to help from time to time. Understandable, the Donkey Kong series is no easy subject to cover.

Now, us joining does NOT mean transferring content from MW. We're doing this our own way, bottom up. We're in desperate need of articles and coverage beyond DKC, my area of expertise. As I said, gradual process.

Again, DKWiki is NOT meant to be a MarioWiki clone. Stop talking about nuking wiki pages like that on MarioWiki. I would recommend a SLIGHT lowering of coverage on Donkey Kong on MarioWiki (less extreme).

I'll personally speed up the revamping progress myself and hold off adding much info for now. I don't believe I've said enough defending the wiki myself, but there's a start. I'll get the other guys to back me up.

I'm with Mega, I'm also from the DKWiki. Yeah, when we join we'll need that access.

As for myself, I am HavocReaper48 (why I put "User:" before that registering here I do not know  , name change requested?) and I have been an editor on Wikia for several months. My first wiki I ever joined/registered on was SmashWiki.

I, being an absolute DKC fanatic, helped rise up the Donkey Kong Wikia shortly after seeing Wikia's large network. Articles were short and aspects un-updated. It shortly became my main wiki right after SW. Things went well, I had also associated myself with the Ace Combat and Street Fighter Wikias in my time, becoming an admin on both as well as becoming the lead editor of the DKWikia.

True, some drama (read: level articles, admin rights, edit wars...) came up every now and then. True, some articles were copied right off MW (desperate early community, much before I joined). And yeah, it took several months for an established community to finally form. I stuck through thick and thin. Until, the dreaded day, the new skin came,  and this time, I was without any power to stop it...

...I'm assuming you all know the story from there. I look forward to being an active part of NIWA.  The DKWiki/a does NOT encourage article copying from MW from this point. Don't do it. Really. I've purposely gone out of my way to differ from MarioWiki as much as possible.
