Ok now I'm not asking to remove them as fully fledged members, but under each NIWA wiki there is a box with all the current members of NIWA. If that box were to just categorize the members, wouldn't it look a little more organized? If you like I will create a draft template to show what I mean.

It may not be what you intend, but by categorizing them we would be marking them as different, not the same as the others. Especially since we only have about 2 members for this other category, it demotes their importance in comparison to the rest of NIWA.

Wikipedia is on a completely different class. They cannot join, nor would they. They would just laugh in our faces.  The reason there is many hyperlinks to them is because it is a huge informational source, and we are promoting all wikis.

Pikmin Fanon is just as much a full member as anyone else.

I personally am not going to touch your Dragon Quest and Strategy Wiki qualm... at least not right now.

Thank everyone who's replied so far for some great check-ins!  There is only a few of us who haven't replied yet and I'd like to track down a few of them. Does anyone have a way to contact Wars Wiki? The wiki itself has been left to spam bots... the remaining members I can get a hold of but I'm not sure how to contact Wars Wiki.

I hope i'm not breaking any rules in bumping this thread (i don't mean to break the rules), but... the url for starfoxwiki.org now points to godaddy... is it safe (and correct) to assume that it won't be coming back at all?  if so, what will fill in the Lylat Wiki's void in the NIWA collection of websites?  Arwingpedia (over at wikia)?

Tacopill mentioned last night that he was working on setting the wiki up again. (I'm personally appalled that a member of niwa has been allowed to not exist for this long. it's disgusting.)

from all experience that I've seen, you would very obviously not be eligible for actually joining NIWA, but becoming an affiliate is possible. Don't give up hope!

Hello Everyone who still pays attention to this website.

I'm just looking for a "check in" type of update for every member wiki. See who is still completely active, and who might have fallen off the radar. Please try to only check in for wikis that you are a member of Staff on... I don't mind people pitching in to give what they see going on at a wiki, but I'd rather hear The story from members of that community.


So. Here's Golden Sun Universe, checking in.  Everything at our wiki is going as usual. Activity has been fluctuating lately between periods of deadness and major activity.  We recently have been dealing with a crap ton of spam account creation, which I may have successfully eliminated by use of the Asirra extension ( http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmEdit#Asirra )  Please install the Standalone version, not the ConfirmEdit Version. We have no major projects going on currently, though I personally hope to have our Fandom section completely revamped and presentable in the near future (probably a pipe-dream).

There are quite a few wikis without complete help pages or policy pages. GSU has half done help pages (I really should get on completing those) But there are those wikis that are done too.

I meant some of the things you had planned. Most people aren't so willing to go out on a limb for something brand new when they don't have any evidence the people behind it are committed enough to make it work. (If you haven't already I suggest taking a peek at http://www.niwanetwork.org/forums/index.php?topic=968.0 )

If you aren't claiming to be the head person, or one of the head people, then I'm wondering why It is you that asked and not the other person. You may not be able to start off from scratch independent though. Just a Warning.

Maybe post some of the ideas you had. If nothing else, we tend to suggest wikkii over wikia because they allow more control over your wiki.

After I said I think they do something like that on N-wiki, I went hunting, and I was pretty much right. The have templates named "Golden Sun color 1" "Golden Sun color 2" "Golden Sun color 3" etc. for each series, (I would guess it was taco's handywork)  In the css for the colors they just have a variable setup and make the "color 1" part static in the variable. It seems simple enough in theory. So I might look into doing that.

Also, for the other thing, apparently the wiki editors just decided to combine two sections on the template, and went right ahead... soo.. not a problem now I guess.

Wiki References / A Few Infobox Questions

Hey everyone, i am starting to push infoboxes at GSU (which, I'm surprised I never did before now, didn't realize they weren't being used I guess) and I have a few snags I would like help with.

First, (and maybe more complicated) Is there a way to have a section heading not display when none of the fields under it are in use? There isn't any particular field that would always be displayed when that section is in use. I'm working on this template: http://goldensunwiki.net/Template:Infobox_item
Let's say the Item didn't boost any Stats, how would I go about having it figure out that, and then not display the Stat Boost section at all?

Secondly, We are likely to start using Infoboxes for our Djinn soon, and I would like to be able to specify what element it is in the infobox, and it pick up colors to use from that. So Let's say The Djinn in question is Mars (Fire) element. I want the infobox colors to change all together to a red based scheme. But more than one color, not just one. I think, something like this is implemented on N Wiki, but I'm not sure. 

Well, that's my two questions, anybody got answers for me?

The Points of no return were slightly depressing to me. I always like being able to randomly go back to a town and just check in on it, even if nothing has really changed, I just liked to waste time visiting.

Oh my.... Wow...

It was Ax that really introduced me to NIWA. Without him, I might not be a Staff member today. He took Golden Sun Universe into NIWA, and helped myself and the other staff members transition into NIWA, as well as helping me to even be GSU staff.

It is so bizarre to think of a person I know only from the online world as dead. I sincerely hope he rests in peace.

The Browser is not Chromium.... It is just Chrome... Just a word for the difference. When you say chromium I expect the OS, not the browser

That's anybodies guess. I would like to note, that I also have not been targeted, and.. This isn't just a problem here, other forums have been having the problem as well.
