Should I start Pikmin?
« on: October 24, 2010, 08:44:07 PM »
I bought it earlier this summer, but I haven't played it yet. I'm fairly busy right now, but I'm not exactly swamped. Should I start playing it now and play about 1 hour each day, or should I wait until I have a lot of free time and play it all in a weekend or two?

How long is it anyway? I generally don't like to play games when I'm busy because they get pushed aside. Then a month or so later, I'll be in the middle of a game I've forgotten so much about. I guess I can make an exception though if Pikmin is relatively short.

It is relatively short. You must finish the game within 30 days (Pikmin Time: 1 Day: 12 minutes, 6 hours is equivalent to 30 Pikmin Days). Technically speaking, the few cutscenes that are in it take about four minutes. But the strategy may call for a much-used reset button without a plan. But, yeah, you should play it. Then play Pikmin 2, it has unlimited days.

Does it offer enough variety that I can play through the whole game in one sitting or one weekend without getting bored?

You will most not likely get bored, the game has satisfying parts. As long as you know what you are doing. http://www.pikminwiki.com/Pikmin_(Game) Use some tips from there, and I guess you will know what you are doing. Just one thing. Do NOT waste time or your efforts will be proven wrong and you will lose. By then you might throw your console out the window. I know because I have :P

o.o

Anyways, yes, I love this game, but it takes more than one or two run throughs to master the game.

I started when I was a youngling... Had no skill. In fact, I'm pretty sure I beat the NPC game in one run; but the original game was never beat... O.@

Thanks for the input. I've decided not to start it.
