Archaic is in the running to be Australia's top geek
« on: December 15, 2010, 03:52:26 PM »
Australia's iiNet ISP is currently running a contest to find Australia's top geek. Currently, I'm sitting in 3rd positition on the leaderboard for the competition. If you haven't already voted for me (from the messages on Facebook and Twitter), I'd appreciate it if you could please do so at http://www.topgeek.iinet.net.au/entry/view/102. Don't forget to pass the message along to your friends on Facebook and Twitter too!

Top geek? I wasn't aware you bit the heads off of chickens for entertainment. I guess that explains your obsessions with Torchics.

That's a very old old reference. I wonder how many people would even get it.

In older days, geeks referred to carnival sideshow performers who would bite the heads off of birds (normally chickens). They frequently performed in what was called a geek pit.

When I get back home to Australia, I'm tempted to record a short video for the contest of me biting the head off a cheap Torchic plushie I got in a supermarket in Japan for about 100 yen.

Where can you see the leaderboard, there's not a link on the top?

Fiddled around a bit, and I find something like a leaderboard here: http://www.topgeek.iinet.net.au/entry/list/?sortOrder=leaders&geekType=&hasVideo=.

Please give me internets! So much less bulkier than those eggs.

Nice, that will definitely help.
