But it's not the way you got it in the original N64 release.

Something so minor hardly qualifies as a different game.

It's still not the way you would have it if played on the N64.

Naesla, my point wasn't that it actually makes it a different game.  It's that it's easy to justify it as being a different game.  Here's the Wikipedia article on the VC skipping straight to differences in the games.

It is just minor things, saving where you couldn't before and changes due to licensing and stuff like that.

I will have a rom for it if I own a legal copy of the game, or more than one in most cases. They are mainly Pokémon and Fire Emblem, and I have FE6, which is JP only, though I do have a copy...

um.. just so you know, your link is broken.

Code: [Select]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Console#Differences_from_original_gamesl

somehow a "l" was added on.

Also, i was thinking about it: if the point of virtual console is to present the games as they were (or a close proximity thereof), then any changes they make need to be minor and very justified; as we would expect them to be the same as they were in there original releases.

Which in my opinion, makes them the same game. Just released under different conditions.
