Mischievous Mole reminds me of Mogurew and several Pokémon remind me of Volvagia. The same with Diddy Kong. Slaking also looks like Donkey Kong.

The Pikmin look like Oddish from Pokemon (and Pikmin/Pokemon names are similar as well).

mr resetti from animal crossing is just like diglett. mario is like magmar. princess peach is like jynx. rosalina is like gardevoir. luigi is like mr mime. toad is like gloom. bowser is like dragonite. prince zelda aka link is like marowak. samus is like porygon. i think all the pokemon are based on other nintendo characters, but some are very obscure so it's hard for us to tell
