Bye-Bye BoxBoy![3] is the third and final entry in HAL Laboratory's BoxBoy! series. The game was released digitally on the Nintendo eShop in February 2017 in Japan[2], in PAL regions in March[3], and in North America in April.[1]
In Japan, the game was released alongside BoxBoy! Full Box, a physical bundle that includes all three games, a soundtrack, and a Qbby amiibo.[5]
Gameplay
Like in the previous games, Bye-Bye BoxBoy! is a puzzle game in which the player must strategically create and place sets of boxes in order to reach the end of the stage. Like the first game, Qbby can only create one set of boxes at a time, but in this game he is able to create different types of boxes, such as bomb boxes that detonate after a few seconds and rocket boxes that fly up after being placed.[5] Certain stages also involve Qbby having to navigate the stage alongside a Qbaby, a child box.[5] Like before, each stage has crowns that can be collected.
In the Japanese and Australian releases of the game, the Qbby amiibo can be used to unlock hidden content in the game.[5]

Demo
In anticipation of the European release of the game, the "BOXBOY! Series Demo Version" was released in the Nintendo eShop on March 9, 2017.[6] The demo was also released in North America on April 12, 2017, alongside the game.[1] The demo allows players to sample stages from all three titles in the series.
