« on: February 18, 2010, 02:41:37 AM »One of the most disturbing I ever read was Barefoot Gen... an autobiographical manga written about the bombing of Hiroshima. It is very disturbing because all of it happened to directly, or to someone the author knew. I think that all politicians and nuclear weaponry advocates should read this manga. It certainly shifted even my already generally pacifistic views, and I think it is a very important part of world history for everyone to know. But again, I must emphasize that it is extremely disturbing! If you are not at least high school age, I would not recommend looking into it just yet!I've read the first couple of volumes of that. Really gripping stuff. The author was an atomic bomb survivor, btw.
When I went to Japan, we went to the a-bomb museum. Soooo interesting yet creepy. (although I just love war history)

She used to bother me in Peach Girl, not sure if I could stand her OWN series, y'know? ^^;
I haven't read her manga yet because supposedly it takes place ~after~ the main series and this series is pretty spoiler-heavy so yeah.
It's been such a long time I can't even remember if I ever finished PG or not. o_O
Now half of me wants to start from the beginning. xD

I think sub-forums for each franchise that NIWA covers would probably be a good idea for the sake of organisation. Since those franchises will probably generate the most discussion they could be sub-forums of a general "Nintendo gaming" forum.

I'm Zesty Cactus, although that's usually shortened to ZC or Zesty. I came here from Bulbapedia, where I edit on a (fairly) regular basis. I'm 19 years old and I live in Toronto, Canada (eh!). I'm a lifelong fan of Pokémon, although I'm also quite a fan of the Zelda games, too. (I was mega-obsessed with Zelda for a while) ^^'
Aside from Nintendo stuff... I'm a music snob. I love listening to music and going to concerts and all that stuff and nonsense. I also love clothes and makeup?

Uh, oh yeah, other games. Well, I like everything. They're all great. A big fan of the Ranger games. I also liked Pokémon Channel(!) because of its surprisingly dry humour and general cuteness. Puzzle League games are fun but not my favourites.

Kotone is my doppelganger and I actually like her. At first I was peeved that they didn't just reuse Kris, but I honestly like Kotone. I like Dawn, too, and anyone from Team Rocket is cool in my books, haha.

I actually don't watch a lot of anime. I like manga, but I've never really been a TV person. The only series I ever really got into was Sailor Moon (I've seen every single episode, special, and movie. I don't really like PGSM though so I haven't seen much of it).
