What we got for Christmas...
« on: December 25, 2010, 05:38:24 PM »
Merry Christmas everyone! Let's discuss what we got for Christmas (or for our other winter holidays that we celebrate).

I got several shirts, some brand new shoes, some spice rub (yum yum), candy, a $25 book store giftcard, and $150 in cash. Not much, but I didn't really care for much since I got myself a few gifts early.

A pink owl tea pot (YESSSS), some comfortable and stylish socks, slippers and comfortable pajamas. Also a handmade owl pencil holder. So cute. (Yeah I pretty much love owls)

I also got a real copy of Mother 3 and the 20th anniversary Famicom-styled Game Boy micro, but I had got those a couple weeks early. *cough* ;D I DID re-wrap them like the in-game presents in Mother, though, but that was just to make myself giggle like an idiot. "Tina opened the present! There was a Mother 3 inside! Tina takes it." [/dork]

I got Super Mario All-Stars (yay), Okami, Kingdom Hearts, a new Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and a Super Mario Galaxy with no case. I also got an insence burner shaped like Munna (I don't know what the name is, maybe... hana?). Haven't gotten any presents from my other relatives, though, yet.
I blame the economy.

At a party for a secret Santa event, I got a 1000-piece puzzle with the numbers of pi on it. The numbers are cut-out things too, so my head is hurting from trying to solve it a few minutes ago... @_@

For regular family presents, I got a nice new laptop, a Drifloon hat made by my sister herself, a Super Mario Galaxy 2 poster (even though I don't have that game), and Okami.

What's Okami about, anyway?

A new black Wii, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Arc Rise Fantasia, and $30 dollars.  ;D

But most of those were early Christmas presents, so...  :P

I don't have it but I really want it, it seems like an awesome game. It's based around Japanese mythology; the god of the sun is trying to save the world from an evil being and to do so she has to collect the power of the brush. And to get that power, she has to find all of the other 12 gods and then fight the boss :)

The thirteen gods are based off of the 13 gods of the zodiac (Cat and Rabbit are both counted as seperate gods).

I'm sure you'll love it :D

Yeah, Okami is one bad-arse game. I've only played it on the PS2, but I heard that the Wii version just changes the control scheme and with the exception of widescreen mode, is the same graphically. Not that it matters, Okami is a visually beautiful game.

(And don't get me started on the sequel, Chibiterasu's so cute)

^This post confuses me.

The insence burner was a koro. I also got sticks of sakura and sake (?) flavored insence.

I know. I's gotses an edumacation, ad!

I really did'nt think Hotel Mario was all that bad, though the voice acting was terrible.

Anyway, from my other relatives I got a Wii Remote Plus and a Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch graphics tablet, a Dazzle DVC100 capture card, Pikmin 2, and a new copy of Paper Mario: TTYD. Aunt said she'd get me a SNES and a copy of EarthBound.
I blame the economy.

My turn!

- Donkey Kong Country Returns (see my opinion of it in the DKCR topic)  with strategy guide

- Kirby's Epic Yarn
- SoulSilver
- Street Fighter Alpha 3
- New headphones (meh, sux)
- Candiez!!!! :D
- 2000 Wii Points (undecided usage ATM, suggestions anyone?)

If you count pre-Xmas shopping:

- Pokemon Colosseum (it was like $5, used)
- Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
- Super Paper Mario

(yeah, I usually get games either month(s) after they're out or if I find a good one used)
