Mystery Dungeon Franchise Wiki is an independently-hosted wiki and NIWA member focusing on the Mystery Dungeon series.
History
Mystery Dungeon Franchise Wiki began as a Wikifoundry Shiren the Wanderer Wiki (founded by karmarogue on Wetpaint.com on March 11, 2008). The original wiki only covered Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer DS, and was later expanded to cover three other Shiren the Wanderer titles. Due to the lack of releases, the wiki was more or less abandoned and was eventually shut down due to a wave of anonymous vandals spamming the wiki. It was saved by adopted by Shiren1111, and later joined by rhaining who aided in the cleanup effort. As Wiki Foundry began to fall apart, rhaining decided it was time to find a new home, and the wiki was forked to Gamepedia.com in September 2018.
Korra II joined in November 2018 and was left to carry the project alone as rhaining and Shiren1111 moved on shortly after. The wiki was upgraded to the Mystery Dungeon Wiki on September 11, 2019, covering all Mystery Dungeon games. Due to Fandom's announcement regarding the retirement of Gamepedia.com URLs, Korra II decided to take the wiki independent, and was joined by (then Admin) Adkuate, and (then User) Blue. The wiki successfully became independent on November 7, 2020. To differentiate the wiki from the Gamepedia fork, and to clarify that the site was no longer focused exclusively on video games, the wiki was rebranded to the Mystery Dungeon Franchise Wiki.
