Pokkén Tournament (named Pokémon Tekken in Germany) is a fighting game in the Pokémon series, developed by Bandai Namco based on their Tekken series of fighting games. Originally released for arcades in Japan with a trial run at select Dave & Buster's locations in North America, the game will be receiving a Wii U port in 2016.
In Japan, the game will be included in a hardware bundle, which includes a copy of the game pre-installed on the console, the Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card, and a booklet containing all the character movesets.

Pokkén Tournament has been announced for the Wii U! Starting in spring, 2016, you can bring home the fun of the exciting Pokémon arcade fighting game. In Pokkén Tournament, Pokémon appear more lifelike than ever before, with amazing graphics and smooth, fluid movements. You will love seeing and battling with your favorite Pokémon.
Pokkén Tournament was developed with BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment, Inc., the producers of one of the top achievements in fighting games, the Tekken series. True to its legacy, this game brings tight gameplay and incredible control to never-before-seen battles between Pokémon. The gameplay is designed to be enjoyed by a wide range of people—even those who have never played a fighting game or an action game before can easily pick it up and play!
Gameplay
Battles consist of two interchangeable phases: the Field Phase, in which players fight in 3D, and the Duel Phase, in which players fight in 2D. During battle, players are able to summon one of their two support Pokémon, which cause a variety of effects. Attacking builds up the "Resonance Gauge", which when filled makes the player more powerful and allows them to use a super move.
