Metroid: Samus Returns is a 2.5D Nintendo 3DS title in the Metroid series, and a remake of Metroid II: Return of Samus, originally released for Game Boy in 1991. The game will be released in September 2017.

The game will be releasing with a pair of Metroid amiibo, depicting Samus Aran and a Metroid. A special edition version of the game will also be released in North America that includes a soundtrack CD.[5] In Europe, the game's "Legacy Edition" comes with the CD as well as an artbook, a 3D Morph Ball keyring, a gold "S" badge, a download code for the Virtual Console release of the original Metroid II: Return of Samus, and a SteelBook case designed after the original Metroid II Game Pak.[6]
