Metroid Prime: Trilogy is a Wii compilation of the Metroid Prime subset of Metroid games. For the original Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, the trilogy uses the New Play Control! ports released exclusively in Japan, rather than using the original Nintendo GameCube versions, which is the reason this game was never released in Japan.

In 2015 the trilogy would be re-released as a digital download for Wii U, at half price for the first week of its release.
