Nunchuk
The Nunchuk is a controller for the Wii, which is also compatible with the Wii U. It can be plugged into a Wii Remote or a Wii MotionPlus accessory, and is used primarily for precision controlling in Wii games, due to the Nunchuk possessing a control stick that the Wii Remote alone does not. Official Nunchuks are always wired, though unofficial wireless Nunchuks exist.

History
Revealed at the Tokyo Game Show 2005[1], the nunchuk was not revealed to have motion controls likely until E3 2006[2]. When it was released along side the Wii in 2006, the general design was the same to the trailer seen in 2005, but it swapped the name of Z-1 to C as compared to the reveal trailer when there was a Z-1 and Z-2 buttons. They likely made this change to help simplify which button is which for a causal audience.
Originally the Nunchuk came exclusively in white, however in 2009, Nintendo Japan gave 5,000 blue nunchuks away in a raffle in accordance to the launch of Wii Sports Resort[3]. Later in 2009, black Nunchuks were released in Japan and America alongside corresponding black Wii Remotes[4]. As a part of the 25th Year anniversary of Mario, red Nunchuks were sold as part of a Red Wii console[5]. Red Nunchuks also came later as apart of the Wii Mini. There was also a gold nunchuk released exclusively on Club Nintendo to match with the Gold Wii Remote offered with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword[6].
