I'm not sure what to say...

From what I've seen from him, he was one of the few people here who actually talked to others, and you could really see how ambitious and passionate he was about this and other projects. In a way it was inspiring.

I just found out that he had an account on deviantArt a few days ago, and I was expecting to maybe get in touch with him over there, talk about how stuff is going over at WiKirby, etc.

I only knew him for a relatively short time, so it 's probably not my place to talk about him. I am sorry for his close aquaintances who will have to cope with this loss.

Whereever he may be now, I hope he has found peace. He was a great guy.

NIWA Discussion / Re: Leader
« on: October 01, 2010, 03:52:32 AM »
A leader, eh?

I think NIWA's problems are mostly communication issues, as well as the fact that we lost sight of what this project was originally going to be: An alliance of wikis, with each of the participants profiting from the alliance through interwiki links and such things. This mindset was slowly replaced with an anti-wikia policy which grew out of hand in a disproportional way and poisoned our project beyond recognition.

Since we obviously lost track of our original intents, we need someone who can get us back on track. Someone who isn't afraid to communicate with the other participants in this union. Someone who carries the true and original spirit of NIWA.

That's why I nominate the one who has proven on several occasions, to me at least, that he possesses these qualities. I mostly see him (and Neo) being involved with the community aspects of NIWA, so it only makes sense to me.

I nominate Axiomist for the position of the leader.

NIWA Discussion / Re: New Card System Introduced!

I do? Yay!

Nuh, but to answer the question:
I will try to steadily update the amount of cards and slip them into the game. If possible, I'd like to add cards from many franchises. Problem is that there are franchises I haven't played (like Nintendo Wars and Metroid), so I might need the help of the respective wiki staffs.

Oh well, we will see.

Full credits:

Edo: Idea and Card design
Justin (me): Coding
Adam: For getting me what I need to work on stuff :P
Archaic: For bringing NIWA to life out of an idea
Matt: For giving me the formula for the card acquisition!

Anyone I forgot: You're still important, and it couldn't have been done without you!

Hm...
Maybe Nintendo, for actually inventing all that stuff on the cards. :P

It's awesome to finally see it functional.
You did a splendid job, Neo, truly superb. My thanks to you.  :)

Hmmm... the first card I drew was the Piece of Heart. Interesting.

As far as I understand, you can talk about pretty much everything as long as you don't forget to apply common sense (i.e. no spam, no pornography, no advertising (talking about other pages is ok, but don't post things like "Go to this page111"), no clicking buttons more than once, no loafing, no using smileys, no funny hats, no loud breathing, no running, no walking, no standing, no complaining about anything, no whistling, no dancing, ... I think I got carried away...)

Anyway, just the first three things I mentioned.

EDIT:
*looks up*
Oh, uh.... never mind.

Hm... Also a viable option.

Come to think of it, I liked Click Clock Wood much more than Cloud Cuckoo Land with all its instant-death falls and that annoying stuff. o_O

Ok, I'll settle for Click Clock Wood.

No new posts since one week, that means the defenses are down. The perfect time to strike.

Forthwith I shall claim this thread in the name of Cloud-Cuckoo-Land.

Thanks to Neo/Justin, an awesome addition to the shop is becoming possible.  I won't spoil what that is exactly....
What, you think I would actually tell you? HA! :3
Well, thanks for the credit I guess... >_>

It's a little big...

I'll make a smaller one.

EDIT:

Try this one. It should fit.

Check this out:

Tried to imitate the style of the EarthBound lettering with this. I also kept it simple.
I was originally going to put a globe or the Franklin Badge in the background, but then I thought that might be overkill. Too much stuff isn't good for a logo. It needs to be simple and recognizable (I'm not saying my example is).

Also, here is a version that is more Mr. Saturn-y:

They might look better with a skin of complementary colours...

If you want to use these (even if only as a placeholder until you find something better or something), you can have them (you, as in "the wiki that is linked to on the first page of this thread").

True....how often do they say/use it in the series?

In EarthBound, I think they call it Psi, rather than PK. Don't know about the other two parts, though.

As for a iconic item... The Franklin Badge, perhaps? It appears in all three games.
Or maybe a globel, like in the Mother logo...

EDIT:
Another idea would be a Mr. Saturn.

I, infact, do not. Have anyone to recommend?

I could give it a shot myself, if you tell me what you want to have exactly.

Do you already have someone to whip you up a logo?

You mean colour?

In that case, it's the yellow ones.

Is there anyone here who reads the Manga adaption of the Pokémon franchise?
And if so, what do you think about it?

...just asking out of curiousity.

Mario / Re: Is Peach a competent leader?
« on: May 31, 2010, 02:25:47 AM »
I think she is not.

TO clarify, 100 mushroom coins dont make 99 beanbean coins ;) beanbean coins are worth much less than mushroom coins. When Prince Peasley says he will give 99,999,999,999 coins to Mario and Luigi, that makes around 99 mushroom coins :) Just clarifying

You have it wrong, Tucayo. It is actually the other way around.

Peasley makes a bet and offers Mario and Luigi 99,999,999,999 Mushroom Coins. Due to the exchange rate, this equals 99 Beanbean Coins. Remember, you pay everything in that game with Beanbean Coins.

So Mushroom Coins are worth much less than Beanbean Coins, not the other way around.  :P
