Nintendo Switch remakes of Famicom Tantei Club: Kieta Koukeisha​ and Famicom Tantei Club Part II: Ushiro ni Tatsu Shoujo (Famicom Tantei Club I and II) were announced during the Japan September 2019 Nintendo Direct, in collaboration with MAGES.

For the February 2021 Nintendo Direct, the game was announced again in two versions; Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and The Girl Who Stands Behind, and it was revealed it would be localised outside of Japan.[2]
