The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is a game in The Legend of Zelda, and the first original game in the series to be developed for Nintendo 3DS. Advertised as the successor to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, the game takes place in the same game world and features a lot of the same elements while also reinventing the conventions of the Zelda games.
In October of 2015, the game was re-released as part of the Nintendo Selects line in Europe.

Story
A sorcerer named Yuga appears in Hyrule, turning people into paintings in order to meet his goal of reviving Ganon and obtaining the Triforce. Link must save them and defeat Yuga in order to save both Hyrule and another world, Lorule.
Gameplay
The gameplay of A Link Between Worlds returns to the style of the top-down The Legend of Zelda games. Rather than have Link collect items in the dungeons, Link instead is able to rent them from the character Ravio and later buy them, allowing him to access most of the dungeons in any order. In addition, rather than have separate ammunition counts for bombs and arrows, every item instead uses the same magic meter; Link cannot use any items if it is depleted.
Later in the game, Link gains the ability to turn into a painting and slide across walls at will. This ability also uses the magic meter. Link can also use this to travel through special cracks that lead from one world to the other.

Trivia
- If the player enters Link's house and merges onto the right wall after gaining the ability, they can see clearly Majora's Mask hanging on the wall. This was done to allude to the at-the-time upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D.[1]
