Sutte Hakkun is a game for the Super Famicom. It was released only in Japan.
Development
The Satellaview release was the first game of indieszero; a company formed from a graduate of the 1990-1992 Nintendo & Dentsu Game Seminar events.
Sutte Hakkun was originally in development for Famicom Disk System for Nintendo & Dentsu Game Seminar.[1]
Additionally as revealed during data leaks, this game may have been developed for the Famicom as Action Puzzle: Sutte Hakkun (Japanese: アクションパズル すってはっくん). There is another unreleased title called Glass Bird Puzzle (Japanese: グラスバードパズル) which may also refer to the Sutte Hakkun concept.[2]
Another game in the series Sutte Hakkun GB was in development for Game Boy (Game Boy Color and Super Game Boy enhanched), though it was never released. There are two known builds; one with a 1996 copyright notice "Sutte Hakkun" and a later one with a 1997-1999 copyright notice "Sutte Hakkun GB".
Summary
Players control a colorless blob with a needle nose known as Hakkun. The aim of each level is to reach all of that level's rainbow shards, clearing the level. Hakkun can absorb the colors of various blocks and enemies, and re-apply them to make them move or behave in specific ways. Using this mechanic, the player can manipulate the objects so that Hakkun can reach the shard.
This version, the Nintendo Power/standard cartridge version, was released on August 1, 1998 (Nintendo Power) and June 25, 1999 (standard cartridge). It is based on earlier Satellaview broadcasts of the game which had different levels (see also: Sutte Hakkun series).
The standard cartridge version additionally came with a manual that the Nintendo Power release did not have.
Re-releases
In Japan only, this version was re-released in a digital format on March 2, 2010 (Wii Shop Channel Virtual Console) and February 4, 2015 (Wii U Nintendo eShop Virtual Console).
