Wii Channels are software accessible from the Wii Home Menu. The software is represented by an icon and accessing it loads a 'splash screen' from which the player can start the software. Specifically, Wii Channels may refer to non-game software. Some Wii Channels must be downloaded through the Internet, however others such as the Mii Channel are pre-loaded on the console by default.

There is one Disc Channel for physical Game Discs, while downloadable games have individual icons.
