Fusajiro Yamauchi (formally Fusajirō Fukui/福井 房治郎) was the founder of Nintendo (then known as Marufuku Nintendo Card Co. or Nintendo Karuta in 1889).[1][2][3]

The Nintendo building was launched in Shomen-Dori, Kyoto. On April 1, 2022; the building occupying the same space was reopened as Marufukuro Hotel.[4]

Fusajiro Yamauchi was born in Kyoto, Japan in 1859 as the eldest son of Sosuke Fukui.[5]

Before forming Nintendo, he worked at the Haiko Cement Company.[6]

His successor was his son-in-law Sekiryo Kaneda.
