Fire Emblem Fates is the collective name referring to the two games comprising the fourteenth entry in the Fire Emblem series: Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest, to be released for Nintendo 3DS in June 2015 in Japan and 2016 worldwide. For the first time in the series, two versions of the game will be released in which the player is given one of two connected stories, with the other available for purchase as downloadable content. A "Special Edition" version is also available, featuring each of the campaigns and other physical bonuses.

Your battle. Your future. Your fate.
Two kingdoms at war – the peace-loving Hoshido and the glory-seeking Nohr – It’s up to the player to decide which side to take. As the prince/princess of Hoshido, who was raised by Nohr royal family, you will be torn between two families you love. Whichever path you take, you will face different types of challenges.
Features:
- For the first time in the series, the player plays as the main character and commands his or her own army. The player character is customizable avatar, like in the Fire Emblem Awakening game. Select male or female with many options.
- During the game, the player must make the choice between Hoshido and Nohr. Each path will offer a completely different storyline with a different set of characters to recruit as allies.
- The Hoshido path is a more traditional path as you work together with your allies to fend off Nohrian invaders.
- The Nohr path will force you to revolutionize an unruly kingdom from the inside – this path offers a slightly more complex story and will be more challenging.
Story
This section is a stub. You can help NintendoWiki by expanding it. |
The Hoshido and Nohr kingdoms are at war. The avatar character is the son of the Hoshido but was raised in the Nohr kingdom, and must choose which side they will align with.
Gameplay
The gameplay is similar to the previous game, Fire Emblem Awakening. Fitting with the Japanese aesthetic of the game, the traditional weapon triangle has been replaced with Japanese equivalents (katana, naginata, and kanabō rather than sword, spear, and axe), in addition to the bow being added into it. The Pair Up mechanic also returns.
Similar to Fire Emblem Gaiden, the weapon durability mechanic has been removed for this installment. The Classic and Casual gameplay modes also return from Fire Emblem Awakening, though a new gameplay mode called "Phoenix Mode" is also confirmed for this game, in which units are revived one turn after they are defeated.
