Pikmin is a series of 3D real-time strategy games created by Shigeru Miyamoto. The original title was released in 2001 for the Nintendo GameCube, and to date has spawned two sequels and remakes. It is commonly asserted that Shigeru Miyamoto's hobby of gardening served as the inspiration for creating the original game.

The series focuses on exploring unknown worlds and using the titular creatures to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles and enemies. A common theme in the series is scale, using the game world to convey that the player characters are tiny in size compared to the rest of the world.
